Local mom accused of scalding 4 year old son
#1
The kid is 4..the mom is 18. They had to go to her school to arrest her!!! This is from our local news channel

It's the unthinkable -- a four-year-old boy burned on more than 40-percent of his body. Police say it happened at the hands of his mother.

Eighteen-year-old Saamiya Thomas was arraigned Wednesday morning on two counts of felony assault. Police say she intentionally held her son in a bathtub of scalding water.

Ya know, I am not a big fan of big government, but I believe there should be a requirement for a license to breed.
Special place in hell for these people. WTF? How would you ever even think about rahabilitating a person like this?
Is there any chance in hell this animal will ever be a productive member of society? I think not, just shoot her and be done with it.

It is all about the "children raising children" thing. WTF were her parents thinking, letting her have a baby at 14? Then again, I have an aquaintance who is 36..and has 3 grandkids already

Let's see how does this go again?

Oh ya, it's her body!! the parents have nothing to say about if she has a baby or not.

Thank you planned parenthood.

Well, with all these new reality shows like Teen Mom, I think that teenagers these days think it is cool or normal to have children. I spoke with a 13 and 14 year old couple who had 2 children together. They said that almost everyone in the tenth grade at their school was either pregnant or had a child. They even had a daycare inside the school! BTW, this couple was from Kentucky, not Ohio.

Does anyone know what is the maximum sentence she can receive for two counts of felony assault? The thought of what this child endured is sickening...not only during the initial assault but also during treatment for his burns. IMO, any sentence will be too short.

She can tell all the stories she wants to. There is no way a four-year-old is just going to sit in a tub filled with water hot enough to give him third degree burns. Even an infant will draw up their extremities, sparing the skin in the creases.

Esbee, max sentence depends on state statutes (thanks LC for the right words). Let me do some exploring and see if I can find out.
