I would have a hate for him like he's never seen. WTF? He should be fined heavily, jailed, sued, suspended, something.

i remember this case from last year i think. i am not making excuses for the officer, but i will say this...911 dispatch is as stressful as air traffic control. you couldn't pay me enough to work dispatch. they often get drunken, fake and crank calls. what he should have done was sent an ambulance to the address which showed up on hisconsole and let the responders assess the situation. he is not required to take shit.

I'm sure it's a very stressful job JB, but a job he choose to take. I see no excuse for this at all. He's not required to take shit to a certain level, but a mans life was in jeopardy and this fucker kept HANGING UP on the girl. I'm sure she was panicked and was not in her right mind when making the call. No excuse, none. If it's too stressful, he needs a different job.

of course there are 2 sides to this. i wish she had said what was happening, and i wish he had sent EMTs to the address. i do believe he was sanctioned, as he should have been, his judgment was poor. when you deal with the public who may also be under severe stress, you need to keep your wits about you. all i can think of is he was having a bad day. people serving the public are human too.

heh...it reminded me of one time i was in main control at the jail taking calls. some drunk female kept calling because her boyfriend had been arrested. she was drunker and drunker and very abusive. finally she said she was coming to the jail. i told her she better take a cab, and she wasn't getting in anyway. well, she drove up to the jail stinking falling-down drunk and i went outside and arrested her sorry ass! ::lmao::

I've made two 911 calls in my lifetime:

1. I was 6 years old and my brother would not give me the controller for NES Super Mario Bros. ::laugh::

2. The day before graduating from college, I was outside smoking and witnessed a nasty head-on collision at a 4-way. 1 fatality, 2 seriously injured. 21

That dispatcher is an asshole and has probably bought the city a massive lawsuit!

Yes dispatch is a job full of stress and you do get some shit from time to time but, when working in that capacity you're expected to maintain an air of professionalism and clearly he didn't as he called the girl an asshole.

He should have tried to calm her down instead of admonishing her for her choice of words.

He seemed more focused on that than finding out what the emergency was.
