Zahra Baker, a murdered child
her charges need to be upgraded soon so her bond can be raised. but it doesn't appear anyone wants to bail her out anyway. i don't know what kind of deal they made with her, but it may only be to keep death penalty off the table. when the autopsy report comes back we can only hope she and adam can be charged with more than improper disposal of a body.

she may be safer in jail.

I haven't seen video yet but I'm reading the transcripts now - Brittany Bently is one of the relatives probably the cheap whore based on her usual media attire. She is the same one who gave all those conflicting interviews the first few weeks where she said Zahra was locked in her room then said she meant she just stayed in her room alot. She says again in this that she called DSS but said in this interview she did not because she was on drugs at the time and didn't think anyone would believe her. In fact Brittany's own mother who Zahra stayed with several weekends didn't believe her and saw no signs of abuse. http://www.wbtv.com/global/link.asp?l=461183

**I do think Zahra was abused but I do not believe this girl she contradicts herself in every interview she gives and seems to just be trying to get in her 15 minutes of fame.
Reply
aahhh still reading - Brittany is related because she was married to the stepbitches nephew Zachary - Zachary says stepbitch never abused Zahra in front of them Brit says she did but Brit is also giving one of the other stories about step bitch hurting her hand as her own story when that was on the news from a neighbor -- to me every time this girl gets caught in a lie it casts doubt that Zahra was abused - why lie about it? It sure seems she was so why lie to make it seem even more horrible that it was?

This is also the same girl that pressed charges against the Bakers for running her off the road when they were trying to collect a debt she owed them. She also claims that the night before Zahra was reported missing they called her and told her she better drop the charges.

We don't get Nancy Grace here. Which is such a pity. I think she is great. Is she on CNN? Maybe the CNN international don't show it in other parts of the world. I watch Larry King though. I think he is starting to slur his words a bit in interviews.

Liars - fairchild says no one in the family knew but EBs daughter brittany is one of the people that called DSS?

and what is NG talking about "finding a child's skull buried in the backyard"?? had anyone heard that?

I wonder where the Fairchild name comes from - that is the last name of EBs youngest daughter Amber too?

Hickory, North Carolina (CNN) -- Residents of Hickory, North Carolina, held a candlelight vigil to celebrate the life of Zahra Baker, the freckle-faced girl authorities discovered dead more than a month after she was reported missing.

Zahra would have turned 11 on Tuesday, police said.

"Thirty-nine days ago, most of us did not know Zahra Baker. But over more than a month, we have all fallen in love with her and become better people because of her," said Hickory Police Chief Tom Adkin.

At the vigil, people lit candles and prayed. They sang "Happy Birthday" and released white balloons and balloons that said "Happy Birthday."

Adkins spoke about the young girl's strength of spirit, her bubbling personality and the desire she had to be just like any other child. He did not address the investigation into her death.

CHARLOTTE OBSERVER:

Balloons flew and people cheered as the song ended, but the celebration for the girl - who would have turned 11 on Tuesday - was quickly followed by a chant from the crowd: "We want justice!" Many are angry.

Although police are investigating the case as a homicide, no one has been charged.

Adam Baker, in an interview Tuesday with WBTV, said, "there is no way in the world I would ever hurt my daughter."

Baker did not attend the vigil because he said he was afraid of what people would say to him. Instead, he watched a broadcast of the event. The station reported that he said he had nothing to do with disposing of Zahra's body.

"It's very hard to try to grieve for my daughter with everything that's going on," he said. "It's hard to do stuff without people looking at you, saying things."

asked if he dismembered his daughter, he says no, he didn't murder her. uh, that was not the question.
"There’s no possible way to ever fill the hole left by my daughter," he said.
how about the hole she was buried in?

he wants to go back to Australia. i'll bet he does.

hahaha too bad the deputies won't let them near each other. in fact, a wise clerk or judge would change the docket schedule. unless they WANT to see a possible interaction. Smiley_emoticons_fies

LENOIR, N.C. -- Both Adam and Elisa Baker, father and stepmother to Zahra Baker, are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, and there’s a chance they will be in the Lenoir courtroom at the same time.

It’s been more than five weeks since the Bakers have seen one another. Elisa Baker has been in jail since the day after Zahra was reported missing, accused of writing a fake ransom note for another child.

Adam Baker was arrested on Oct. 25 on charges unrelated to the investigation into Zahra’s disappearance and death. He later bonded out of jail.

They are both scheduled to appear in court on charges unrelated to the investigation. There will be extra security at the courthouse, Channel 9 has learned.

Maxine Pearson, who built a memorial near the Caldwell County site where the remains that are believed to be Zahra’s were found, said she thinks the extra security will be needed because of the emotions surrounding Zahra’s case.

“A lot of people are furious,” she said. “I've read a lot of comments on the news and Internet from people saying they can't wait to see her out.” AN OLD-FASHIONED LYNCHING MAYBE?

Many area residents said they were curious as to how the Bakers would react if they saw each other.

“I wish I could be in there to see their reaction toward each other, because nobody really knows the story. Not yet, anyway,” Tonya Brown said.

“Maybe emotions will come out. Maybe that's what needs to happen,” Steve Brown said.

hahahahaha he WISHES they'd deport his ass.

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - During the search for Zahra Baker police have stumbled onto another legal issue.

One federal law enforcement agency involved in finding the 10-year-old girl was alerted that Adam Baker's immigration status may be in trouble.

Ann Crotty is an immigration lawyer who works with Charlotte's International House.

"The government can actually detain the person...actually put them in a detention facility," she said.

Crotty would not specifically talk about the Baker issue, but says Immigration and Customs Enforcement better know as ICE takes such a matter seriously.

"If someone is arrested there is usually a detainer issued by ice."

Adam Baker faces list of charges ranging from bad checks to assault.

Sources familiar with his case say that the Australian native may have overstayed his welcome in the states.

Investigators in at least two police agencies have knowledge that his work visa may be expired.

Victoria Gonzales specializes in immigration law, and seen cases like Bakers.

She said, "If you don't extend the visa, they will put you in deportation proceedings."

Gonzales says if individuals with out of date documentation end up in trouble with the law, because of other offenses the local agencies cases take priority.

"If someone has been placed in removal proceedings because of a crime, they take care of that issue first, and then they are placed in deportation."

as i expected, now neither adam or elisa will be in court today. just their lawyers i suppose.
also, i am looking out for a ruling re: elisa's court-appointed, lisa dubs. there is a question from DA as to whether she should have been appointed due to rules that she only represent someone charged with murder, and no murder charge has been filed. her appointment may have been improper.

"Killian would not comment on questions regarding the immigration status of Adam Baker, who moved to the United States from Australia after marrying Elisa Baker about two years ago. He also declined comment on reports that Elisa Baker might be facing bigamy charges, because court documents show she was still married to another man when she married Adam."

both are now rescheduled for Jan. 27.
the signs say adam baker is a murderer and adam baker is guilty. kind of hard to read.

Flossie Wilcox, right, and her husband Jeff Wilcox, left, of Valdese, N.C., hold signs demanding justice for Zahra Baker as they stand outside the Caldwell County court building in Lenoir, N.C., Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010. Neither the father nor stepmother of Zahra Baker was in court Thursday morning for scheduled appearances on misdemeanor charges unrelated to the death of the young girl.
