No, they don't & I'd be delighted to help get rid of them all.

ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) -
Sheriff's deputies in York County are investigating after an 11-year-old boy was attacked by his neighbor's dog and had a large piece of his scalp ripped from his head.

According to a York County Sheriff's Office report, deputies were called to a home along the 2000 block of Ridgecrest Road in Rock Hill on Wednesday evening around 6:49 p.m.

Deputies say Kenneth Allen, 11, had gone to his neighbor's home to borrow a kitchen utensil. As he entered the neighbor's yard, the woman's two-year-old pit bull, Dallas, broke the clamp of the cable he was attached too and lunged at Kenneth.

The young boy was attacked and suffered severe injuries to his right hand and arm. According to the report, "a large section of scalp was torn from the back of his head."

"It's one of the most terrifying things a father could ever see," Ken Allen, Kenneth Allen's father said.

Kenneth was transported by emergency crews to the Bethesda No. 2 fire station, where he was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He was listed in "Good" condition as of Thursday night.

Deputies say the initial attack appeared to have started in the driveway and deputies found a four-inch square of Kenneth's scalp in the yard nearby. They gave it to emergency crews in case it could be reattached, the report states.

Deputies noted in the report that when they arrived at the home, the pit bull lunged at them and it "took some time to get it under control."

AJ Smith, the dog owner, told deputies that the dog normally stayed inside the home, but that she had left it outside because the weather was nice.

"I was so sorry to hear about what happened. And if I would have been home, I probably would have put the dog down too," Smith said.

The pit bull was signed over to Animal Control, the report states.

Smith's girlfriend, who also owned the dog, was issued a citation for violation of the county Animal Control Ordinance.

Steve Stuber with Animal Control told WBTV that the pit bull was euthanized on Thursday morning due to the vicious nature of the attack.

The animal's body was sent to Columbia to be tested for rabies. The results of those tests are expected to be returned to the Animal Control office on Friday.

An 11-year-old boy is in hospital after suffering a horrific attack by a neighbor’s pit bull which tore off part of his scalp.

Kenny Allen, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, had gone to the neighbour’s home to borrow a blender on Wednesday evening so that he could make a milkshake.

As he approached the Ridgecrest Road property, at around 6.30pm, the dog broke free from where it was tied up in the backyard and leapt from behind some bushes.

PERTH – A six-year-old Australian girl was "a screaming ball of sand and blood" as she was mauled by a pack of six dogs.

Maya Wicksteed was visiting a neighbor with her father, Bruce, near the remote western city of Perth when she was set upon by three Arab Bullmastiffs and three domestic dogs, Perth Now reported.

"Maya was a screaming ball of sand and blood," Wicksteed, who was working on a vehicle when the attack occurred, said. "Police later told me she had been dragged over a 130-foot area."

He described "a horrible feeling in my gut" when he realized what had happened and told The West Australian that his neighbor had come to Maya's aid by laying over her to shield her from the four-foot-tall, 130-pound dogs.

"I realized Maya was lying underneath him and his wife was lying down in the path of the dogs to try to shield my daughter," Wicksteed said. "I feared for my life. I picked up a length of hose and just started whipping them."

Maya suffered horrific facial injuries in Friday's savage attack and is recovering after undergoing cosmetic surgery. She was in stable condition Monday.

The three Arab Bullmastiffs, belonging to the neighbor's son, have been voluntarily surrendered. They were believed to have lived on the property and been used for pig hunting.

Wicksteed said, "They are a killing machine -- if a dog can't differentiate between a pig and a little girl, there's an issue."

Interesting juxtaposition going on in my town today. Can't post the link easily from my phone but short version is this: pitbull known as Diablo, apparently universally loved and known as a harmless pitbull owned by a Perinton man, was shot by deputies responding to a dubious call at the residence. Their version has them out there on a noise complaint or house party or car that needed to be moved. His version is they came out to settle a grudge after a bad raid a few months ago that was a bad intel situation. I can find a link later but everyone seems to be choosing up sides on whether the cops were truthful and within their rights to shoot and kill the dog.

A two-year-old boy suffered serious injuries to his face when he was mauled by dogs as he played near his home.

Two dogs, believed to be Staffordshire bull terriers, launched themselves at Kieron Guess in a garden at about 6pm yesterday.

A 49-year-old man was also injured as he tried to pull the animals off the boy, who was later airlifted to hospital by helicopter. don't know his condition yet.

one of these attacked the boy

Keiron Guess needed plastic surgery after one of his ears and most of his nose were torn off, while his left eye was said to have been 'hanging out'. He will be kept in an induced coma until Thursday and doctors fear he will be left partially blind.

Cole Johnson, the father of Kylar, helps police search for his missing son in a junkyard on Goliad Road. Authorities, volunteers and members of Kylar's family knocked on vehicle trunks and shouted his name for hours before the boy's body was found.

The father of a 4-year-old boy who was mauled to death by a pit bull in March is facing three indictments, including negligent homicide.

Cole Johnson's indictments were handed down Wednesday in a case that shocked a community already coping with an earlier rash of pit bull attacks, said Victoria County District Attorney Steve Tyler.

Johnson also faces charges of endangering a child and injury to a child.

"The county (Victoria County Sheriff's Office) had responded out to that location before," Tyler said.

Attempts to reach Johnson for comment were not successful.

Kylar Johnson wandered away from his home in the 1100 block of Old Goliad Road on the night of March 25. The boy's body was found about a quarter-mile away in the backyard of a neighbor's home. Several dogs were in the enclosure but one, a pit bull, which was suspected of killing the child.

Johnson, other family, friends and a search party spent most of the night of March 25 and some of the following morning searching for Kylar.

Johnson, 28, told sheriff's deputies he was cleaning his car when his son disappeared, but Tyler believes Johnson was negligent in Kylar's death.

"Deputies had found the toddler wandering down the road before," Tyler said.

Also, in May 2011, the sheriff's office responded to a disturbance at the same location in which a 20-year-old man died by accidentally shooting himself in the head.

Johnson was arrested on suspicion of interfering with public duties in that shooting. He also possessed a controlled substance.

This conduct shows some negligence, Tyler said. The case will take several months before the trial begins.

"You know he wasn't keeping a close eye," Tyler said.
