For Cracker:
When your sitting there lonely
with no one to call
They all left you home
and went to the mall
Just remember this ditty
as you eat a cheese curl
Your writting is silly
you sound like a girl
But as for my mother
that sits by the screen
She has nothing on you
she's just not that mean
Your just not that rich
nor very exciting
Karl Rove owns the dick
that you are now biting
But next time you think
you are being so cute
Forget that I think
your as big as a boat.
Your Pal
Maggot

Aww, cute.

Seriously! I have no sympathy for any of those fuckin' morons who don't know how to manage their money properly. Only a dumbass would live beyond their means & then cry because it cost them their home. I read that the average credit card holder carries an eight thousand dollar balance. I think those people are pretty fuckin' stupid too.

Duchess, not everyone is in financial trouble because of irresponsible spending. Granted, a lot are. But sometimes people lose jobs, or have high medical bills, or any number of things that can derail their finances. I try not to judge people for having a hard time. Unless it's apparent that they just went to town with the credit cards and were spending way beyond what they could pay back.

And those are the people that I would be delighted to help.

Most of the time I am able to overlook others stupidity because it doesn't effect my life...right now isn't one of those times.

I have "friends" who have been out of work for over a year and "friends" who found a job the next week. Sometimes beggars can't be choosers. If I lost my position in my chosen field, I would do (and have done) what I have to do to keep the ship afloat. I wouldn't sit on my ass looking to make as much money as I did before. I would take whatever was available and keep looking. People fuck themselves when they decide to take a mini-vacation for even one day when they lose their job. You can't do that shit.

Pay for your house first. Then basic food items, then electric/gas/water, then car, then all that extra crap you want. How hard is that? Because really, anything else IS extra.

Your medical liability is limited if you invest in insurance like the rest of us. I effen hate paying that much every month, but I do it so I can avoid financial ruin. I have more than one kind of insurance because life can fuck you any number of ways. People don't want to pay on the front end, so they take a chance. Sometimes they lose.

I don't have medical insurance, I pay out of pocket for an annual checkup and that's less than 2 months of insurance expenses. If I get really sick with cancer or something then I have two rental properties I can sell to keep them from throwing me to the death bed with the rest of the poor schmucks. That will more than pay for all my treatment and I'll be saving myself $450.00 per month (with the premium raising every year) for shit medical insurance that I may or may not need. If you are young and healthy then you shoul be investing your money in something other than health insurance.

As fucked up as insurance is there is no way that I would self-insure. When my kids were born both ended up in pediatric intensive care--my daughter for like 20 days. I don't recall all the details but my daughter's bill was well over $100k and we ended up paying something like $2000 (maybe less). Just a few weeks ago, I had to take my daughter to the emergency room for a potential wrist fracture--the bill was close to $2000 and with insurance we were responsible for maybe $100.

I hate the premiums but no way would I not have coverage. We could deplete our savings over some major illness too but...meh, I'd rather pay the stupid $450/month premiums and not go broke if someone gets seriously ill.

I have insurance for my kids, but not for myself and my husband. I'm willing to take the chance on it right now. Doctors and emergency rooms bargain with you, and for a lot less than the insurance company.

I understand. When I'm deathly ill, I'll be shopping for the cheapest/bargain doctor. Smiley_emoticons_skeptisch

Gah, okay so you're guessing that you and your husband are healthy/going to stay healthy..??

We are self employed, and pay about $1200 a month for our insurance. It is steep, but worth every penny to me. We are, like Cracker, insured in many different ways. Peace of mind is precious.
