If you haven't already seen it, take the time to check out the Wilderness Lodge, it is so cool! Absolutely awesome.

We took our RV to Fort Wilderness a few years ago and I actually liked that. I also saw Blaire from the Facts of Life there lol.

i was forced to go to Disney's wonderful world of highway robbery once, and that was more than i could stand! sheer torture! bring large bags of cash!

but i did like the disney marketplace shopping area decorations at Christmastime.
at least you didn't sweat like a hog and have to stand in line to enjoy that.

Aww, LC, Disney is MAGIC! You didn't love the Pirates of The Caribbean or seeing Brer Rabbit or Space Mountain (OK, I almost cried, I admit it) or the Tree of Life?

I don't go to amusement parks for the stores. I buy everyone in my party something Disneyish, ice cream, and a picture, but it ends there. We are the people with the backpack full of water bottles. I don't mind paying for an enjoyable sitdown meal, but I do get pissy paying too much for freaking water.

I spent more money at the Georgia State Fair this year than I did at Disney.

i hated every minute of it.

but SONG OF THE SOUTH is my all-time most beloved Disney movie, and i bought all the china figurines.
in fact i'm a disney-animated movie sap, i grew up on those like most people here.

but i'd rather go on a forced march in siberia than back to the park.

I like Universal Studios better. If you stay at the Hard Rock hotel then you can use your room key to pass up everyone in line. You should have seen the look on those poor schmucks faces when we passed all 200 of them up on the Jaws ride. The $400 per night room was well worth it.

I feel that way about Six Flags. Effen hate that place. It's full of hoodlums.

My actual favorite things to do in Florida are swim with the manatees, lay on the Gulf side beaches, and stock up on avocados (Haas, not those big nasty Florida ones).

I miss out West sometimes, though. The high deserts are more spiritual and less touristy. I miss seeing the horizon and jagged mountains and trees older than Christ. Sometimes I make my own fry bread for Indian tacos when I am homesick.

I love manatees and avacodos, especially with hot sauce. The avacado, not the manatee.

I'm a cheap bitch. I can't pay over $250. I just can't. We are going off season this time, so we booked a nice suite at a Disney property. I'm thinking the lines won't be very long in February. They weren't too bad in September, really.

I'm not going on and on about Universal again, but I love that place. I guess I'm not so old that I can't still be swept away for a few hours.

I met an elderly couple who told me they go to Disney and Universal every year. I can't imagine going every year. Three times is enough for me. After this time, I think I will be done.
