A local asshole in the news..this mental midget was reported missing after leaving work one night and not showing up at home..or work next day. Found him living in Florida...he moved back, and kinda forgot to tell anyone here...including employer and landlord.

We couldn't believe it when the email from Rochester police came into the newsroom. The city man missing for almost a month was living in sunny Florida all along.

"It's great that he's alive. It's unfortunate that he took off without telling people," Dave Griggs, Hogle's landlord said. For almost a month, Griggs wondered where his tenant was. Gone without a note, he thought the worst. "I couldn't imagine why if something like that happened why they couldn't find the car or something."

Surveillance video from the Hess gas station in Bushnells Basin shows the last time Hogle was in our area. (Hogle worked at the Hess station) The video shows the end of his shift, buying a six-pack of beer at the counter. Later, we see him leave and walk out into the darkness towards his car and out of Rochester for good.

Griggs and police says Hogle had a falling out with his roommate and decided he had to go and took the rent money with him.

"They haven't paid January rent and I'm in the process of evicting both he and his roommate," Griggs said.
"So maybe that's why he's staying down in Florida," I said.
"There you go," Griggs said with a smile.

The roommate

His angry roommate in Rochester told us "I'm going to find his (expletive) and cut him!"

"He's the reason I'm getting evicted! He stole $3,500 from me!" the roommate yelled into the phone. "I'm going to cut him! Put that in the paper!"

Our phone call to Hogle's cell

Today we tracked down Hogle's cell phone number, so we decided to give him a call. The phone goes right to voice mail. We're not the only ones looking to reach him.

"If you saw him again, what would you say to him?" I asked Dave Griggs.
He laughed and said, "Oh I don't know what I'd say. But money does strange things to people."

he owed money. he went on vacation. hah

and adults not wanted for crimes have the right to disappear. that's why many police depts. won't take a missing persons report for 24 to 48 hours on an adult. (depending on the circumstances)
