It is evolution and scientific. It was predictable and natural that a tribalistic social dynamic would result in conflict, dislike, and mistrust of other groups/tribes. Primates will sometimes "hate" another primate just because they eat differently than the others.

There is a built-in mechanism for caring and liking your own as a matter of survival. That is why racism flourished with humans.

If you want to think it is some totally made up thing out of nowhere with no connection to our animal past then go ahead and earn your new title of Delusional Bitch. Smiley_emoticons_bussi

Also MF the fights they are having these days are all about religion.

Who told you it was scientific? You might like to call me a DB but you contradicted yourself by mentioning a "tribalistic social dynamic". Keep going and I will throw down the gauntlet and ask you to back up what you are saying with some facts.

You need it to be proven to you that humans and primates are tribal?

your funny, you make me laugh

Has anyone here seen the movie "The Stoning of Soraya M." set in Iran. I saw it a few days ago. I was talking to a friend on the phone about it, she has seen it too. About stoning to death this innocent woman married to a gross man that wanted to bed a 14yo. True story. That Iran is a scary place.

Nope. I have never been caught up in the mass delusion upon which charismatic religions are based. If I want a high, I will smoke a j. Somehow I have managed to enjoy life in the unaltered state the last few years. I will admit to shrooms and Carlos Castaneda in my younger days, and I have read quite a bit of literature on subjects dealing with standard religion, ye olde religions, radical awakening/awareness, pretty much everything but Islam (they can fuck off), but I just try to live a life that leaves me little room for regret. If I fuck up, I don't need guidance. I just need not to do that again. I find religion is for the weak or predatory. I'm not either.

It takes more work my way. I don't have the luxury of praying for Jebus to send me a check in the mail or take away my misery. Instead I deal with the suckier parts of life and wake up in the morning whether I feel like it or not. I just keep on truckin', baby.

yeh I don't really like the word religion. I think I am talking more about spirituality. I think that the reason there is so much fighting is there is something happening maybe in another realm that we cannot see. A lot of people have personal encounters with something or God and they are touched by something and this is why there are so many people into it. There is something there.

It's hope in a hopeless world.

It's control in a place where no control can be obtained in the flesh.

it's power to the powerless.

It's a relationship that cannot be lost to the lonely.

It's love where no Love exists.

This will make you sad, but we get it. We just reject it. We don't need it. Many people are humanists and don't need creation myths or a belief in an outside power to justify existence. It is enough to live. I don't need the crutch.

maybe for some people it is a crutch and thats ok its not our place to judge. some people might say smoking a j is a crutch. i think some people have these encounters, there is something there, and sometimes people who don't see it or want to see it are dismissive of others experiences and quiet harsh in their expression of that.

Of course not, why would an ooze crawling cephalopod need a Creator, they did it all on their own.

Thats the thing we are more than just that. I think understanding that there is another dimension shows depth and understanding. Maybe some people are afraid of what they can't see.

You are so focused on your one religion, you don't understand. At all.

WE GET IT! We just don't have the grasping need you folks do. You need God to meaning in what exists here. That is a short-coming in my personal view. It is a fairy tale.

I don't need a Book of myths to make my life meaningful. I don't need the guide book to know right from wrong. I see things a different way.

Your closed view is actually very offensive to people of other belief systems. They make fun of your elementary understanding of the deeper dimensions and how you need to attribute it to some unfathomable Lord to conceptualize it.

Plus, most Christians I know are fuckers. The ones who aren't fuckers are no better, or worse, than anybody else.

You don't know my views Cracker. I make a point of not imposing my views on others. That would be wrong. You are boxing me into what you think I am and you don't know. I don't go to church.

I think it is offensive and repulsive to to impose other belief systems onto anybody. Its horrible. I am not doing that. Guaranteed I know alot more nasty christians that you! ha.

If you really want to discuss religion, I have mentioned I attended a religious university. I have also read Joseph Campbell and watched Zeitgeist. They pretty much removed any "mystery" from religion by citing the sources of the most popular Biblical notions. Christianity is a religion heisted from other much-older religions. It's all plagiarism.

How anyone can watch Zeitgeist and afterwards still 100% believe in the symbolic and allegorical myth that is the Christian religion is beyond my comprehension as a human being with a reasonable level of intelligence.

I had the bible pegged as nothing more than a book of allegorical fables before I hit my teens.

Yeah. It is entirely beyond me. I have no comprehension of blind faith. I don't see how people can still ascribe to the same beliefs if they have read much history or science. I think some people need it.

I don't try to change anybody's mind. I would rip my hair out if I really tried. Logic fails where organized religion begins.

you know some things can get taken the wrong way when written down. I said "some people" dont get it, in response to someone else who said "some people" blah blah blah.

I think if you don't believe there is another dimension to us then that's your right. But it kind of reminds me of Bill Maher, he can be right on some things, but then when he talks about God, he becomes very arrogant about not believing and holding anyone in contempt who does.
