He just started -

So . . .

"Our" interest, according to Obama: Prevent refugess from pouring over the borders into Egypt and Tunisia and overwhelming those countries' resources.

We intervened to prevent a massacre.

"They" asked for our help.

Gadaffi must go.

We will not perform or commit a regime change.

We will not use force to rid Libya of Gadaffi.

Can't wait for the pundits to chime in.

I only caught the end of his speech but what I heard was "we went there because we knew we could easily kick his ass."

Yep, he told gadaffi that we won't be putting troops in libya, that we won't be coming after him, and that we are basically done with what we were going to do.

So now what?

Do we abandon our allies? do we bring back all of our assets? ( I know that's bullshit) my nephew is being deployed to quatar, what is the end game? will gadaffi survive? will he remain in power in libya?

according to our president he is happy to let them fight it out among themselves.

He said that the libyans will have to find their own way to freedom.

Not what I heard. We're ceremoniously handing control over to NATO but we're going to bomb the shit out of Ghadafi's troops until his supposed supporters realize the futility of their efforts.

I hope you saved it on DVR, because you really need to listen to it again.

What do you think should be the U.S. strategy in Libya?

If were not there to remove the head of the snake then what we are doing is a waste.

Look, If the rebels actually wanted our legitimate help, what happened to them utilizing diplomatic channels first? so that we could at least knew who we were protecting?

I have to tell you, I have no desire to help the extremist muslim killers who we faced as enemies in Iraq take libya and gain control of it and it's oil wealth.

I have no desire to leave sharia law as the law of the land in countries we do help.

Did you see where obama has already signed off to allow the rebels to sell oil from libya? what the hell? who is going to gain from that? we don't even know who all of these guys are yet.

To open 12 Mc Donald's, 6 Burger Kings and a handful of KFC's and Pizza Hut's across the country before Subway gets their hands on the prime properties.

To resettle all American product producing factories from China to Lybia, simply just to show those Chink's there are other people able to work longer hours for less wages on the planet. Not only will that put a big dent into their economy but also surely teach them a lesson.

Hollywood should focus on more such movies like "The Gladiator". It made big bucks, and with Lybia at hand now, can be surely produced even cheaper. The new TV trend in the States will include such titles as "Friends of the Desert", "Desert ER", "Desert Dexter", "Nip and Tuck a Bedouin" as well as "Two and a half Lybians".

All environmentally dangerous plants and factories will be set up in Lybia. It's big enough and not only who gives a shit about their environment but even more so, do they have any?!

That will also include all of Detroit. Not because it polutes it's neighbourhood, but because it's fucking ugly. Which brings to mind, let's move everything that's ugly in the States over to Lybia.

A move that could dramatically hurt the fast food industry as half the population would be missing, but let's face it, what's better than waking up in the morning surrounded by pretty people?!

Lybia, a new country with a new challenge or simply the most wonderful dumping ground of the USA?

hah

I did love this entire post!

The visual of "Two AND A HALF Libyans" took me in another direction . . .

You know the one . . . the soldiers posing with the dead?

I now understand Obama's foreign intervention position:

"Where the French go, so shall the US."

Someone please remind me.

Who occupied Viet Nam before the US sent in "advisors" and then the troops?

How do you distract a weak mind from a serious issue?

Did you know that one can, in fact, be whelmed. It's not as impressive as it sounds, though. Rather like our current president.
