Norlin Airlann (Northern Ireland in Ulster Scots) is actually a LOT more complicated than that, so complicated that it sometimes hurts my head thinking about its convoluted and complex history.

The population of northern ireland is actually about 6040 protestant/catholic.

My mom's family is from County Fermanagh (sp?) and they are Catholic as shit. hahaha

I don't think there is a way to fix this. I don't see a solution that would make everyone happy. Even if you gave Northern Ireland back, 40% of the people would be irate. It is unfixable.

Bad idea, maybe, to begin with...

The main town in County Fermanagh is Enniskillen, the IRA set off a massive bomb there on Remembrance day (Republicans hate any remembrance day services for the British Army) 1987, there also planted another bomb 20 miles away in Tullyhommon, where the Boys Brigade and the Girls brigade were set to do a remebrance day march, thankfully that bomb didn't go off.

more troubles.

Belfast, Northern Ireland (CNN) -- Authorities in Northern Ireland on Saturday defused a bomb packed into a bin containing 500 pounds of homemade explosives, police said.

The bin was located in a van abandoned outside Newry, along the main roadway between Dublin and Belfast, said District Commander Alastair Robinson of the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

He blamed the foiled attack on dissident republicans who are accused of killing a police officer with a booby-trap bomb in Omagh on April 2.

Local politicians said the bomb uncovered Saturday could have unleashed a disaster on the scale of a 1998 attack in Omagh, where an 800-pound bomb killed 29 people.

Dissident republicans are those who want Northern Ireland to be Irish rather than British, and do not accept the 1998 peace deal that largely ended decades of violence in the region.

That would work better if I were married. As it stands, it is just more of your gibberish.

If you look at my profile, you can find all of my posts for the day. Then you don't have to read the entire board to leg hump me.

Vacations: What people do when they aren't on limited incomes.

At least you are paying attention. You must read just about everything I post to compile your Cracker database.

I'm sure OP appreciates your online-reach-around assists. I know I appreciate your worthless bitching and judgments based along political lines. As you don't actually know anybody here, your loyalty should be commended.

I think the term you are searching for is "ex-husbands." You may still consider yourself a husband even though your wife left several years ago, but she doesn't want you now.

Here is the history in a nutshell: Cromwell conquered Ireland. The King gave the land to Protestant lords as reward for their service. Over time, the natives were dispossessed of their land and livelihood. They were made vagabonds in their own land.

Though war, where the Catholics were led by Michael Collins, the Empire was forced to grant sovereignty to the South, while keeping the industrial north.

It will end when Ireland is united under the majority rule of the entire population (the VAST majority of which is Catholic), which will probably occur as a result of population growth, without any more blood being shed.

With that in mind, the struggle takes on a different context.

However, it seems to me that the that the killers REALLY had to stretch things to declare this man a target.

May he rest in peace. THAT is just murder, plain and simple.

FYI: I am an Irish Catholic, in case there was any doubt.

If they had a referendum in Northern Ireland tommorrow about whether or not the people of Northern Ireland wanted to be part of the republic of Ireland the vote would be no.

The majority of people in Northern Ireland are Unionist Protestants.
