Do you play the lottery? What would you do if you won this kind of money? This guy is someone close to me.......

Florida Lottery: Florida man wins lottery twice in 6 months

Lightning struck twice for a Panama City Beach, Florida, man.

Jody Massengale won $3 million in November, playing a Florida Lottery scratch off game. Last week he did it again, winning $10 million on another scratch off ticket. This time, Massengale purchased his winning ticket at the Express Lane, located at 8302 Thomas Drive, in Panama City Beach. He bought his previous winner at a gas station on North Lagoon Drive.

David Haas, who works at the Express Lane, might be selling a lot more scratch off lotto tickets in the next few days. The word is out, he's the guy who sold Jody Massengale a $10 million winning scratch off ticket. "It's awesome. It's really interesting, I talked to him the day he bought the ticket in the store. At the time he didn't tell me how much it was for, then I come into work and find out it's like $10 million."

Locals are still talking about Massengale's $3 million win back in November. The fact he hit an even bigger jackpot this time has some wondering if he's got some kind of system. "If he does, it's something he needs to keep to himself. Either that or write a book on it," said Haas. "I guess it's just pure luck. I'm not surprised — that is what the tickets are made for. If he happened to win twice, more power to him. I'm happy for the guy," said Fred Jacobs, a frequent scratch off player.

While store management hopes the win will bring in more scratch off customers, fellow lotto players are trying to keep it all in perspective. "I haven't had a bad day in my 53 years of life. So long as I keep waking up, that is good enough luck for me," said Jacobs.

Massengale chose a one time pay out of $6.5 million dollars.

I don't gamble, if I want nice stuff I have to work and work hard for it!

eg. I had a patient yesterday that had a word from God that Nelson Mandela will be put in jail for 30 years against his will.

I love to gamble. I'm glad there are no casinos close to me. I do play in local poker tourneys a lot and win quite a bit. I host poker charity tournaments a couple of times a year. It is a great way to meet people and cheap entertainment.

There are casinos at all of the racetracks here & our state benefits from the revenue they generate. They also enable us to have some of the biggest win purses on the East Coast so I'm all for gambling.

As an aside...they ship old people in by the busloads to gamble & conveniently place ATM's all around so they have ready access to all their old people monies. 78

I play the lottery every once in a while, usually when it's 100 million and over. Needless to say I never won.

Most I have ever won was $50 on scratch off tickets. Did that a couple of times.

I put two £1 lines on the National Lottery once a week, I occassionaly take a punt on the odd boxing match (where I've had some decent success) and the occassional football tournament (where I've only won once though it was a biggy).

I don't bother with the gee gees or casinos although I am in a poker circle (we play purely for chips representing imaginary money).

I won $10 on a scratch off the other day. Not bad but I really wanted the $1000 a week for life.

I've pretty much given up the lotto shit....never even come close to matching 2 #'s, let alone 6.

I find the scratch-off's a bit boring. Wifey gets a kick out of them though.

You are no longer in the womb, friend. The competition is tougher out here.

Ha! He'd probably say you're a distant relative.
Funny how these things work.

I'm pretty sure he'd claim me. In fact he is taking me on a 10 day trip next weekend so he better. :B But it is funny how all these random people from his past are contacting him, and me even, asking for money. He's single so I've had a couple of my girlfriends ask me to hook them up. Back off bitches.

I hope the Clarke/Straub case gets cracked this week before I go! I'm going to be pissed if I come back and have to catch up on 400 pages because they made an arrest. But I am not taking my laptop where work can find me - I'm going to be kicked back on a beach with a fruity umbrella drink. Or playing blackjack. lol

The government already took a huge chunk in taxes. They got theirs before he got his of course. He immediately met with a financial advisor and attorney. The majority of the money is locked down for a few months. He wanted it that way so he could get his head on straight and not make any rash decisions. He said he enjoys looking at what he COULD own but he doesn't feel like he has to buy it....he likes seeing all that money on his account statements better! He can live very, very nicely on the interest alone.

I admit that I am a little insanely jealous of his win but oddly I feel a little sorry for him too. I have seen how people act different towards him. All ass-kissy and patting him on the back. How is he ever going to know people's true motivations with him?
