God redeemed himself with Job in my eyes. This dude was just too much holier than thou and The Big Guy just kept dragging him down a peg or two.
Ultimately everyone should realize that life is in the hands of luck, God, Gods, or pure blind chance and that one should count his blessings or try to change his luck dependent on how things are working out. Judging others by their successes and failures is a very "religious" thing to do.
