reports vary at this point.

KHOU

LIBERTY COUNTY -- Liberty County sheriff's deputies are on the scene of a home in Hardin where a tipster told them 25 to 30 bodies are buried.

A law enforcement source confirmed that a mass grave with 'a lot of bodies' was found on the property near the intersection of County Roads 2048 and 2049.

Some of them are children, according to the source.

The tipster said dozens of dismembered bodies are buried in the grave, according to Cleveland Advocate Vanesa Brashier.

The source is a psychic OH SHIT, according to another source in Liberty County.

Sheriff's deputies said they found blood on the scene and are now trying to get a warrant to search further, according to the Cleveland Advocate.

About 15 sheriff's department vehicles and at least one cadaver dog are on the scene.

The Beaumont FBI has also been asked to assist in the investigation.

Texas Equusearch founder Tim Miller said they have been contacted and are on standby to provide equipment and other resources as needed.

some fucking horror movie??

DEVELOPING: Conflicting reports are coming out of southeast Texas of a mass grave with dozens of bodies, as other sources tell local media that no evidence has yet been found of anyone deceased.

Initial reports said authorities had found as many as 30 bodies at the intersection of two county roads in a town outside of Houston.

Sheriff deputies and a cadaver dog are at a home at an intersection in Hardin, where they were told about the bodies from a tipster. The tipster reportedly described dismembered children's bodies, KPRC-TV reported, citing one source. FoxNews.com could not independently confirm the report.

A spokesman for the Liberty County Sheriff's Office told The Cleveland Advocate that deputies were trying to obtain search warrants but some of the individuals involved have been "uncooperative" so far.

The FBI is helping with evidence collection at the scene, Kim Barkausen, an FBI spokeswoman, told FoxNews.com.

But Click2Houston.com reported later that officials with the county said they had no evidence of "deceased persons."

Officials from the sheriff's office weren't immediately available to clarify the conflicting the reports.

ok so the tip came from a psycho psychic.
i hope there is no foundation in fact, but they have warrants and FBI there.

Houston Chron.
Liberty County sheriff's officials Tuesday afternoon said they found blood at a rural residence that a tipster said was the burial site of 25 to 30 dismembered bodies.

A state law enforcement source later Tuesday afternoon told the Houston Chronicle that deputies had been directed to the site by a psychic.

"All we know is the sheriff department received a call about a mass grave, or something like that, with several bodies," the source said. "They went and checked it, and there was nothing there. The caller went back and said, 'No, you went to the wrong house.'

"They go back out and go to the house and see something dark that could have been blood, and do a presumptive test that it was human blood."

A neighbor said authorities were congregating at the home of Joe Bankson.

Bankson, reached in Dallas where he was traveling with his wife, said he did not know why police might be at his home.

Bankson and his wife are long-haul truckers who said they were en route to Georgia. They left Sunday, he said.

They have lived at the residence for three years, he said.

"I haven't killed anybody," he said. "And I have a lot of friends, but I haven't helped anybody bury any bodies."

Shortly before 6 p.m., Liberty County sheriff's spokesman Rex Evans said officers had not exhumed any bodies.

"At this time we have not recovered any bodies," he said. "We only received information of a possible crime scene here at this location. Upon our arrival we determined that there was a need for a search warrant. Once that warrant arrives at the scene we will further our investigation."

The Cleveland Advocate reported the house is near the intersection of County Roads 2048 and 2049.

The Cleveland newspaper said authorities were told that as many as 30 bodies, possibly belonging to children, were buried at the intersection of the roads between Hull and Hardin.

A cadaver dog has been brought to the scene to aid in the search.

The newspaper quoted authorities as saying residents of the nearby residence — the object of the search warrant — were “uncooperative.”

Fox
HARDIN, Texas - "There is no indication of bodies in the residence, the shed or anywhere on the property," said Captain Rex Evans with the Liberty County Sheriff's Office. The statement was in response to information submitted by a woman who claimed to be a psychic, contacted the Sheriff's Office and described the existence of many bodies of dismembered children on a property. The description led to a joint investigation between several local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

Liberty County Judge Craig McNair said the self-professed psychic first called deputies Monday night and later contacted them Tuesday with a thorough description of the property. Investigators closed the intersection of County Road 2048 and County Road 2049 in Hardin for much of Tuesday afternoon and evening, according to a news report from The Cleveland Advocate.

Blood was found on the back porch door of the home on the property, FOX 26 has learned, but the discovery was related to an altercation that took place a few weeks before.

Deputies told FOX 26 there was an odor coming from the backyard of the home, which is leased to a couple who work as long-haul truck drivers.

The combination of blood and the odor led investigators order a warrant to search the house.

Texas Rangers arrived after 7 p.m. to serve a search warrant to access the home.

An FBI spokeswoman confirmed with FOX 26 early Tuesday evening that the agency was assisting Liberty County Sheriff's Office investigators after a report of mass graves found in Hardin north of Daisetta.

Sheriff's deputies began to investigate a home on CR 2048 acting on information they were alerted to Tuesday afternoon, but had to wait until the search warrant was issued.

A cadaver dog was brought to assist in the search effort for as many as 30 bodies, according to The Cleveland Advocate.

Law enforcement officers are trying to find the woman who first contacted Liberty County investigators and was able to describe with accuracy some odd features of the interior of the house, which is why investigators gave some more weight to her call. The Liberty County Sheriff's Office plans to visit with the County Attorney's and District Attorney's offices to determine whether the woman will face any criminal charges.

Authorities say there was no evidence of illegal activity in the house.
