Republican Debate

I agree that the EPA has done its job. Hand it back over to State rule. The Feds should only have guidelines and the states should have the ability to tweek it according to that states needs.
If you do not like Ron Paul you are not a centralist. You are one side or the other. He may be the only polititian that is not in it for money or fame. He is America. That is why Washington hates him. But he may be the only one that could turn this country back into the peoples hands.

Rant over.Smiley_emoticons_razz

Go ahead. Hand it over to the states. The State of California handles everything well. Smiley_emoticons_slash

As for unionist or nationalist I prefer to think of it as centralization vs. decentralization (at least in this case). Economies of scale and all that; you would think this shit would work better than it does. The EPA employs roughly 18,000 people. If every state had their own environmental enforcement agency, I wonder how many employees that would entail? Just thinking out loud.

I'll look at the videos in a bit. Smiley_emoticons_smile

Ummm, the EPA doesn't enforce ANYTHING.

From their website, so you believe me:

"Many environmental laws allow EPA to authorize state agencies to conduct enforcement activities. EPA works with these agencies to help them develop programs that meet certain criteria that are established in the regulations under a particular law. Once a state program meets the criteria, EPA can approve that program. Upon approval, the state has the primary role for implementing the environmental program. "

The EPA does NOTHING but "develop programs"~ another way of saying "push paper." The states ALREADY ENFORCE THE LAWS.

People don't know how the government works. We have lost touch. I only know some of this stuff because I studied it as part of an academic program, they don't advertise it. You have to look.

We ARE NOT THE GOVERNMENT'S BITCH people. It isn't "us" and "them." The government is OUR BITCH! Take back your bitch!

You're partially correct. The EPA makes the rules, and the state enforces (the state also has the option of imposing more stringent rules than what the EPA sets forth)...however, should the state fail to enforce, the EPA will, and then will punish the state.

EPA enforcement, when not handled to their satisfaction by states using state resources, is civil court lawsuits filed through the Department of Justice. There are no EPA police.

The EPA polices the states. It will punish the states (by restricting funding) if they don't enforce the minimum rules they set forth. We see it all the time when it comes to air quality. If the states air quality reaches certain detrimental levels...and ff states don't institute emissions monitoring by vehicles, they run the risks of losing Federal funding for their highways. No court action needed.

I'll check it out.

Honestly, I'm not very political.

I may try to influence people a little online because I'm a shit, but I know we all vote alone. People are going to do what they are going to do.

I just want people to make up their minds based on the truth, not some stupid bullshit lies they heard or some theory they don't really understand or for some conviction they think they have without really knowing why they feel/think that way. (World's longest sentence.) If people had a little more knowledge of math, science, and history they wouldn't follow others around like retarded lemmings.

EPA can shut your ass down with nothing more than showing up and doing it, there is no warning, no due process, and very little right to appeal.

They can and will hold up permits, just try and do a bio mass or even just a burner to dry woody products see what government red tape is really like.

The truth is cracker that there is no truth when it comes to government, if you can make a buck they will create whatever law they need to get their percentage of it. and lie to you about why they deserve to share in your prosperity.
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.
John Adams
