it appears boy was taken by a woman with mental problems. from a homeless shelter during the night, on foot. they should be able to spot her quickly. i am still looking for info to determine whether he is endangered or the woman just wanted a child for herself.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Atascadero Police Department is initiating an Amber Alert for a missing boy.
Authorities are looking a 4-year-old boy named Jeremy Lee-Logan Guthrie. He is 3' 5" tall, white with brown hair and brown eyes and weighs 33 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a camouflage t-shirt, blue underwear, and carrying a Spiderman blanket.

Police believe he was abducted by a Hispanic female, Annette Hale, 52 yr old, 5`04" 200 pounds, last seen with her hair in a bun, sunglasses, and a white tank top. The suspect took the victim from the Echo Shelter in Atascadero, CA and left with the victim on foot.

Jeremy Guthrie, a four year old white male wearing a camouflage shirt and blue spider man underpants was abducted from the First Baptist Church Shelter in Atascadero early this morning. Police are actively searching for Jeremy and Annette Hale, a 52 year old white female. Hale is 5 feet 4 inches tall and approximately 200 lbs. She has brown hair which was last seen in a bun and wears glasses and possibly a white tank top. Hale is not known to drive a vehicle and may be on foot with the child. The child was last seen at approximately 9:00pm and may have been taken by Hale from the Shelter at approximately 4:30 am. The Atascadero Police Department is requesting that anyone who may have any information regarding this matter immediately contact the Atascadero Police Department at 805-461-5061 or call 911.

Location: 6370 Atascadero Mall in the City of Atascadero.

Suspect:
The suspect Annette Hale, described as a 52 year old adult White female 5 feet 4 inches tall and 200 lbs, with brown hair in a bun and wearing glasses and possibly a white tank top. Child Jeremy, described as a male White 4 years old, with brown hair, 3 feet 5 inches tall and wearing a camouflage shirt and blue Spiderman underpants and no pants. Jeremy may have a blanket with him.

Details:
On August 5, 2011 at approximately 6:30 am, officers from the Atascadero Police Department were dispatched to the 6370 Atascadero Mall (First Baptist Church also known as the Echo Shelter) for a report of a missing 4 year old child. When officers arrived on scene they met with the child's mother who told them her son was missing and was possibly abducted by another individual staying at the shelter by the name Annette Hale, age 52 years, 5 feet 4 inches tall. Hale is not related to the child and possibly left the shelter at 4:30 am when a door alarm sounded. Hale does not own a vehicle and may be in the area on foot with the child whose first name is Jeremy. It is not known if Hale has any friends in the area who may have picked her up with the child. If anyone has any information regarding this incident you are asked to contact the Atascadero Police Department at 805-461-5061.

update:

Police officials are now saying that kidnapping suspect Annette Hale has red hair. She was previously described as having brown hair.

She is now described as 5 feet 4 inches tall and approximately 200 lbs. She has brown hair which was last seen in a bun and wears glasses and possibly a white tank top.

Hale is not known to drive a vehicle and may be on foot with the child. The child was last seen at approximately 9:00pm and may have been taken by Hale from the Shelter at approximately 4:30 am.

Circumstances: UPDATE: Contact phone number has been changed An AMBER Alert has been activated throughout San Luis Obispo County for a 4 year old boy who was taken from Echo Shelter (First Baptist Church) in the City of Atascadero . The victim's mother and the suspect are transients of Echo Shelter. The victim's mother and the suspect were involved in an altercation on the evening of August 4, 2011. On August 5, 2011, at approximately 0430 hours, the suspect abducted the victim and fled the shelter. There is no known vehicle associated with the suspect.

ATASCADERO, Calif. (CBS13) — Police said the kidnapped boy who was taken from a Central California homeless shelter Friday morning has been found alive.

Four-year-old Jeremy Lee-Logan Guthrie was allegedly snatched from the Echo Shelter at the First Baptist Church in Atascadero around 4:30 a.m. by 53-year-old Annette Hale, who is not related to the boy.

The abduction may have been sparked by an argument between Hale and the boy’s mother.

Police found the boy safe in Atascadero, but the circumstances surrounding his rescue have not been released. Hale is not in custody.
