GEORGETOWN, Del. -- A Delaware pediatrician who decorated his office with Disney characters and miniature amusement park rides, is convicted of abusing scores of young patients over more than a decade will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Earl Bradley, 58, showed no emotion as a judge sentenced him Friday to 14 life sentences for 14 counts of first-degree rape.

Bradley was also sentenced to 165 years for multiple counts of assault and continuous sexual exploitation of a child. Bradley was arrested in Dec. 2009 after a 2-year-old girl complained to her mother after an office visit that the doctor had hurt her.

Bradley recorded homemade videos of the abuse, said prosecutors, who presented the judge with more than 13 hours of videos showing sex crimes against more than 80 victims, most of whom were toddlers.

The case rocked the close-knit community of Lewes, a town of about 3,100 on the southern Delaware coast. Families had to identify victims, and the scandal pitted some spouses against each other, and parents against grandparents. Guilt over leaving children alone with Bradley lurked in the background for some.

Bradley's office in Lewes was known for its many toys, merry-go-round and Ferris wheel. While Bradley secretly recorded some videos in Disney-themed exam rooms, the most brutal attacks occurred in a basement or a backroom where he lured children with promises of candy or toys.

Bradley's arrest followed previous police investigations and years of suspicions among parents. His colleagues also questioned his strange behavior, including being overly affectionate with children and not looking adults in the eye.

After his arrest, reviews found that state medical society officials, individual doctors and the Delaware Department of Justice violated state law by not reporting possible unprofessional behavior by Bradley to the medical licensing board. The board itself was criticized for failing to act on information it did receive about Bradley.

Gov. Jack Markell signed nine bills about a year ago prompted by the Bradley case that tightened regulation of doctors and clarified the obligations of the medical and law-enforcement communities to report and communicate about suspected physician misconduct and child abuse.

It seems that children are put at risk by parents more than is acceptable, this guy is just flat a useless piece of shit and should not be allowed to live, but what do you do with parents that are either too ignorant, or otherwise screwed up and leave their kids alone with people and in places where they could be at risk?

Before the internet it was not reported as much, today there are support groups and people are encouraged to face their past with less scrutiny. There was a time when the victims were portrayed as weak and provocative. This view has changed and it has become part of main street media and a topic people can bring up at any lunch table or social gathering. Not so in the past.
It is an evil that has gone mainstream. As more kids are left alone without a good adult to teach them the correct path they will be more abundant and requires more protective vigilance. The cycle and this product of our society today can only grow. Unless a hero can wake up the world, it will continue.

Yep, if you look back at history, it was pretty normal during old times, i.e Greek, Romans, to have your fair and accepted share of young boys. If you still look today at old and backwards societies, i.e. Masaii, and of course here in the villages of Yemen, you will find this curious thing about 70 year old guy getting married to a 16 year old. I have never ever left my kids alone with a doctor. They are 14 and 11 and it never even occurred to me. We have had the same ped since Vincent was born and I trust him and would never think that he would do anything. But he has never asked me to leave the room or said wait in the waiting room or anything. Even at Vincent's 14 year old physical I was in the room.

I agree in some sense of that statement. But in others, I disagree. One reads/watches news reports on the exploited children in third world countries..and yes, the things one sees most of the time involves a whitey...but then you have to ask yourself, what race is doing the exploiting? As you mentioned, it's the same race as those that are being exploited. But it's also what the medias focus is on...you simply cant believe that it's all whitey flying down to somewhere in Bum-fuck-Asia that's completely sustaining the market, do you?

Would be actually quite interesting to do some research about it, but from my own experience living in those areas, Jakarta, Bangkok and even Kenia had its fair share, I've yet to see some local face engage in such ways than the usual white guys.

One of the sites we frequented turned from a quite funny and cool place into a web cam joint and suddenly we had plenty of 9-12 year old girls, mainly from the Philippines, show up on cam. We made huge complains but what was more interesting was that shortly after I see on TV a documentary about the size of exactly those operations over there. Just take a room, put 3-4 little girls into it, and add a web cam, eh voila, you're in business. It was massive.

The thing that was interesting so, on the site you could see how many people are watching each cam and it was somewhat shocking to see over a hundred people logged on to each of those.

But I still got to see someone from another ethnic group apart from whiteys do it. The rest are sort of like butchers. They bring and slaughter the meat, but they are not the ones eating it.

I can't believe this creep! I would like to know what e told the parents to get the kids alone with him? No way in hell I would let anyone, dr, dentist, etc alone with my children!
