the walmart "salon" case:
it's not exactly Helena Rubenstein. Smiley_emoticons_biggrin

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

A Stone Mountain woman accused of initiating a brawl inside a Gwinnett County nail salon last week was arrested Monday on charges including aggravated battery and fighting in public. Cell phone video showed Monnessia Wright, 35, throwing a porcelain bowl that smashed into pieces and hit a 17-year-old customer, breaking two of her teeth, said Gwinnett County police spokesman Jake Smith. Ashley Corbett also sustained cuts to her leg, chin and hip in last Monday's melee at Regal Nails in the Walmart on Centerville Highway in unincorporated Snellville.

In the incident report the responding officer described observing "pieces of hair, broken pieces of a bowl and blood on the floor."

According to witnesses, a woman, thought to be Wright, became upset with the salon's pricing and spent the next 30 minutes loudly complaining to workers and customers alike. Screaming and cursing eventually turned to fisticuffs when the woman's children clashed with the child of another customer.

"And from there, it was off the chain," a witness told Channel 2 Action News. "Bowls were flying, glass was flying, hair was flying, braids was flying, weaves was flying, everything was flying."

Just flurries here, too. There was accumlation for about an hour before the sun came out for a bit and melted it. I needed to go to the store, but I didn't even attempt it. By the time you see the first little snowflake, the bread is already gone. haha

the poor little girl she stabbed to death had Down's Syndrome. :(

Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Carulus Hines told a neighbor she would kill her children if the state tried to take them away. Monday, 9 days later, Hines killed her disabled 4-year-old daughter.

Tuesday, the state agency that handles cases of child abuse and neglect acknowledged it had a history with the Hines family, but would offer no further details.
"The department can confirm we had previous contact with this family," said a written statement from the state Division of Family and Children Services. "We are currently reviewing the case file to determine the extent of involvement."

After trying to choke her 8-year-old son, Hines covered the mouth of her daughter with tape and stabbed her to death. Hines, 40, died after police broke down the door and shot her repeatedly.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office reported Tuesday that the girl, Nalecia, whom neighbors described as having Down syndrome, died of multiple stab wounds and asphyxiation. None of the bullets police fired at the mother had struck the girl, the coroner’s office said.

The 8-year-old and his uncle, who lived with the family, had summoned police from a neighbors’ house. The boy and his uncle – Hines’ brother, James Farmer -- told the neighbor that Hines had claimed to be God, capable of killing the boy and then bringing him back.

Hines’ problems were an open secret in her Carver Hills neighborhood. Neighbors said she spoke of being possessed by demons and could be heard calling out the name of Jesus and speaking in tongues behind her home.

“I knew she had some mental issues, I just didn’t know this was the extent,” said Miyoshi Hill, who manages the property.

Another woman said she had repeatedly seen Hines slap the children and even threaten their lives.

“She said that if they think they can take my kids, I will kill them first,” said Tyisha Jackson, who said the conversation took place on Nov. 19. Jackson said that when she asked about Hines' kids, the mother exploded, saying, "I'm tired of people asking about my kids."

"She had a lot of problems with her kids," Jackson said. "She couldn't feed them or clothe them. The kids always looked raggedy."

It's not clear what impelled Hines to attack the children with such ferocity, but financial pressures as well as delusions had piled up in recent weeks. She had not paid her $600-a-month rent for five months, and was being told to pay or leave the home she shared with her brother and the children. The water had been turned off, and the neighbor who had let the family borrow water was no longer willing.

The family's home was also in disarray, with clothes, trash and toys strewn around, said Hill, the property manager. "It was shocking to see how they had been living," she said. "It was almost like [the TV show] Hoarders."

But Hines also strove to live a normal life. As recently as July she boasted on her Facebook page about having made outstanding grades at the school where she was studying to work with medical records.

Hill, the property manager, said she let Hines stay even though the rent was overdue because she felt sorry for the woman and her children. When Hill told her she must leave a few weeks ago, Hines became angry and aggressive, she said.

Hines has a criminal record in Baltimore, where she lived previously, for drug possession. A longtime friend there, Bryan Jones, said she had struggled with heroin. Her husband is in prison in Maryland.

Jones said he spoke to Hines Sunday and she claimed to have just spoken to her parents, who are dead. She told him she was going home to be with them.

According to what Hines' brother, James Farmer, later related to Hill, Hines was acting erratic Monday and had a knife. When she started swinging the knife, Farmer tried to protect the children. When he ran next door to call for help, she threw her son out a window. He took the boy to the neighbor's, and when he went back to the home, the door was locked.

When police entered, Hines was holding her daughter in one arm and stabbing her with the other, according to Maj. Keith Meadows, commander of the major crimes section.

Police said that the large woman -- she was over six-foot-tall and about 300 pounds -- refused to put down the knife. The officers fired 10 to 16 shots.

LITHONIA, Ga. - The quest for some limited edition sneakers took an ugly turn early Friday morning outside the Mall at Stonecrest in Lithonia.

DeKalb police say several people have been arrested, including one woman who left two young children in her car, after the new Nike Air Jordan 11 "Concords" went on sale.

Hundreds of people began lining up in the early hours at the Mall at Stonecrest to get their hands on a pair of Nike's new Michael Jordan sneakers. Several stores inside the mall were offering the sneakers.

Apparently, some people could not wait until the mall opened its doors at 8 a.m. Police were called to the scene.

DeKalb police responded with as many as 20 squad cars after a large crowd apparently made an illegal entry into the mall, breaking down the door. Police escorted most of the people back outside. At least four people were arrested in that incident.

According to police, one woman left two young children in her car in the mall parking lot. Officers with DeKalb police had to break her car window to get the children out. They say the woman's car had been in the parking lot for quite a while.

Police waited for the woman to return to her car and when she did, she was arrested.

The woman told FOX 5 she was looking for her cousin and not buying sneakers. She says she did not know if her cousin was there to buy the sneakers.

However, several people told FOX 5 that she was there to purchase the sneakers.

Anybody want to bag on Cracker about stereotypes? Because they are stereotypes for a reason. Those are ugly shoes.

Never go to Stonecrest Mall or Greenbriar Mall if you are in the ATL area.

Another helpful hint for ATL: White people don't wear the hood up on their hoodies. They wear hats. Thugs wear the hoods up with or without a hat.

Yes, I've been meaning to talk to you about that.

Shoes, handbags, bling, big hair, big sunglasses, Michael vick, hoodie up...

I was holding back because you ride horses and black people only ride them in Europe. And on that Old Spice commercial. Black women stay away because they are afraid the horse will want its hair back.

I don't know how I feel about people stealing baby formula. That is really sad.

She likes butt sex, I guess. Do people use K-Y for regular sex? And I guess she is stank, too.

But I feed badly for the baby. I hope the kid is somewhere where he/she gets to eat.

if there is a baby, DCF will check into situation.

BUT
in my experience busting shoplifters at walmart, they often steal the cans of baby formula to resell, it is very expensive. a top target.

"Norcross parents upset by slavery in school math worksheet

A math worksheet for third graders that used examples of slavery in word problems has angered some parents at a Norcross elementary school.

One word problem stated, "Each tree had 56 oranges. If 8 slaves pick them equally, then how much would each slave pick?" Another said, "If Frederick got two beatings per day, how many beatings did he get in 1 week?”

Such questions can evoke bitter memories in Georgia, where African Americans were enslaved for generations until the Civil War and the elimination of slavery.

"It kind of blew me away,” Christopher Braxton, a parent of a child at Beaver Ridge Elementary School, "I was furious. … Something like this shouldn't be embedded into a kid of the third, fourth, fifth, any grade."

Another Beaver Ridge parent, Terrance Barnett, said, "I’m having to explain to my 8-year-old why slavery or slave or beatings is in a math problem. So that hurts.”

Gwinnett County School District officials said teachers were attempting to incorporate history into math lessons.

Parents said that the school’s principal was collecting the assignments and would shred them so they wouldn’t be circulated."

WTF? hahahahaha
