Child brings mother's crack pipe and drugs to show and tell

SWEET SPRINGS, Mo. (AP)-- Officials at a small northwest Missouri elementary school say they were stunned when a kindergarten student brought his mom's crack pipe and some drugs for show-and-tell.

KCTV reports that the boy showed the items on Sept. 6 at Sweet Springs Elementary School. School officials called police.

The boy's 32-year-old mother was arrested and is charged with possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment.

Court records indicate that the teacher told police that the boy had the pipe and "several baggies of crack rocks." Officials say the drugs were worth about $3,700.

A family friend told KCTV5 that the boy is being cared for by relatives.

You have got to wonder what was going through the teachers head when the boy pulled this out of his backpack.

Teachers have seen and heard it all. Little kids tell everything about their home lives. Parents just don't realize it. Your child's teacher knows every time you have a fight at home or when daddy got a dui.

Hence the increase in home schooling in the US.

Yeah, nothing like teaching 9th grade algebra at the Paradise Inn while all jacked up on crack.

Seriously though, I think home schooling is on the rise here because the lazy fuckers don't want to be bothered getting their kids up for school. It's much easier to dose them up with Adderall and let the virtual school handle it.

Home schooling is a ton of work. There are quite a few around here. They are probably smarter than the public school kids and they can join any sports that the public schools have. They learn more because they can devote more time towards learning and not have to wait for the numbskulls to catch up. All the time on a bus, waiting in line, going to a cafeteria etc. is used for learning.

There are quite a few home schooled families in my area as well, mostly because our school system is considered much lower than national standards. The classrooms are also overcrowded, with the average ratio being 35 students to 1 teacher. Not to mention the fact that at the moment, the schools are only interested in teaching the kids how to pass the Gov't mandated tests, so that they can receive funding again (they lost federal funding 3 years ago, due to low test score).

For those reason's and a few others, both my children go to private schools.
