car dealerships and service
#1
i am so impressed with my car dealership! believe me, i know this is not always the case!

i have to share this.
last month my son had a road hazard flat on my 2006 Nissan Altima that he is buying from me. the tires were $600. worth and only a year old.

so he takes it to my dealer and they replaced it. then they wouldn't charge me! Big surprise (i didn't have any warranty paperwork for some reason.)

so now, the 2006 needs oil change, prep for winter.

i called this morning to request the 27-point inspection and ask the cost. they told me no charge plus a free oil change! Smiley_emoticons_skeptisch

these people treat me like a queen! unbelievable. [Image: 0002047C.gif]

(i bought a new Altima a few months ago, the battery died in a month, and they didn't charge me for a new one then either)

i could tell you horror stories about the dealerships i dealt with in florida when i had my Jag. i even put one cheating thieving scumbag mechanic in jail.

but i bet you have horror stories of your own. tell!

Jag service is a bitch. We always had trouble with getting ours serviced or repaired. Shame, too. It was a pretty car.

Must be a thing with Nissan, because in the almost two years we have been dealing with ours for service, they have treated us great.

I believe the days of shitty service at your major Car Dealerships are over. There's way too much at stake today if a dealer mis-treats you.

With FB, Twitter and other social media outlets, it doesn't take much to trash a business. Everybody is on their toes these days, and it's better for all of us.

My XKE was the Queen of the repair shop!!! It always was the best looking car there, and unfortunately, it always was there! That bitch made me "walk" as much as I got to "drive" it!!!
Dealer "never" gave any freebies!!!

Sorry, Cars, but the dealer knew you 'liked' to pay. You probably flaunted it a little, and, in the end, they knew they could milk you for every dime.

No harm there. That's the price you pay to own a high end vehicle, with a shitty service track record.

It's funny you bring up 'arrest-me-red'. I had a 2000 Impala for 8 years in bright red, and received 1 speeding ticket during that time.

I speed most of the time. Do you really think color plays a part in speeding tickets?

well a fast red car does attract attention and is usually driven by some young cowboy or someone in a midlife crisis. not sure about Duchess. hahahaha

getting back to Jags...i had a gorgeous classic XJ6 and i swear to you i needed 3 cars, the Jag for the shop $$$$ and one to drive. plus a cruiser.

At first my XK8 wasn't in the shop much other than regular servicing (which cost a small fortune). After a while it was clear nothing about Jags had changed. Shame. I loved the car, but...
