Good thing I never go to the movies, I like all most of these greasy bundles of goodness but manage to stay away from them in my normal daily travels.

One thing about the theaters here that I don't remember from California is you can get an entire meal of greasy food at the concession stand. Nachos, hot wings, pizza slices... there's even one theater that sells beer in their attached pool hall. My nickname used to be "Two Mile Mary" cuz I need to pee like a racehorse every 10 minutes after drinking beer so I don't think beer during a movie sounds like a great idea for me. Unless I'm sitting directly on a toilet, maybe.

I am a cheap mutherfucker. I take in water bottles, a box of dark chocolate nonpareils for me, and a few candy bars for the kids in my purse that I purchase at Target before the movie. I buy popcorn if I am begged or if we didn't just come from a restaurant. I don't care if the movie theater "only makes money at the concession stand." Because that is bullshit for most theaters that charge around $10 a ticket. Fuck them for trying to guilt me into buying food.
At the little drive-in movie places in SC, I buy concessions. A dollar a ticket probably doesn't pay the bills. I want to see them stick around for future generations.

There used to be drive-in theaters all over the place when I was a kid and I loved nothing better than going... remember when they had playgrounds up front and all the kids would be there in their pajamas? Naw, you're probably too young to remember that. Anyway, it was actually safe to do that back then and it was a blast. I hardly see drive-ins now, I guess they're just not economically feasible to run anymore.

Ahh..them were the days. Loved the drive in. We used to count the bats flying head first into the screen. Everything at concession stand cheaper in those days, but still a lot easier to get away with bringing in your own snacks. I think there are two around here somewhere....both too far for me to bother going.

My husband buys the giant refillable popcorn and brings enough gallon plastic bags to hand out some to everyone and then he goes and gets the refill.
