I've seen you say you have a Nook, right? I never paid any attention to them because I thought they were strictly for reading books, mags, etc. but I recently heard someone say he surfs the net with his. How do you like it for that?

Is the nook anywhere near the cranny?

Hahaha!

I have a Kindle that I love but it is just for reading. Now they have the Kindle Fire and new Nook that you can websurf but besides being intrigued, I don't know anything about them.

I think you have to pay for a data plan or something with them? If so, that's a turn-off--especially since I'm already paying for one on my stupid phone. With my [reading] Kindle, I paid around $30 when I bought it for free wi-fi (so I can download books etc. on the go)...no additional/subscription fees required.

There are soooo many damn tech toys out there. I remember when all we had was a phone bill. Smiley_emoticons_slash

I've been wanting a tablet, wi-fi only no data plan, but I can't really justify the expense to myself given my desktop, laptop & BlackBerry 78...and I was aware that the "readers" are less expensive than a tablet so I was curious. I wish I could just stop wanting one altogether.
