Drew Peterson Trial --GUILTY!
#61
Drew Peterson's mother died earlier this week and he was allowed out of jail/prison for a bit for a visit to the grave site apparently... I don't agree with this!

Even killers have mothers, and Thursday, Drew Peterson was briefly released to visit his.
Convicted of murdering his third wife, Kathleen Savio, Peterson received a short furlough from the Will County Jail to visit his mother's wake in Darien, Ill.

That's just wrong on so many levels. I can hardly believe a convicted murderer was given that courtesy.

Drew Peterson was just sentenced as he screamed out that he didn't kill Kathleen. He was sentenced to 38 years. The judge took into consideration his years as a police officer and service in the military and gave him leniency for that, he was facing 60 years. Drew Peterson gave a long statement among shouting things and making statements that people in the court room responded to, including the removal of some in attendance.

I personally believe that since there is/was evidence of domestic abuse, terrorized his neighbors, and he used the shield to hide it that he shouldn't have been given leniency for his service as the judge gave him. He is also the suspect in the disappearance of his 4th wife although he hasn't been charged yet.

New Charges Against Peterson

Drew Peterson, the former suburban Chicago police officer convicted of killing his third wife and suspected in the disappearance of his fourth, has been charged with trying to hire someone to kill the prosecutor who helped put him in state prison, authorities announced Monday.

Peterson, 61, has been in prison since he was convicted in 2012 of first-degree murder in the 2004 bathtub drowning of his third wife, Kathleen Savio. Savio's death initially was ruled an accident, but after Peterson's fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, disappeared in 2007, Savio's body was exhumed and her death was ruled a homicide.

Both felonies carry a maximum sentence of at least 30 years in prison. He's currently serving a 38 year sentence.

Peterson attorney Steven Greenberg said the charges "seem a bit absurd" because Peterson would have nothing to gain by trying to have Glasgow killed. "This is completely out of character and inconsistent with everything I know about (Peterson)," Greenberg said. "I'll wait to see what evidence they have."

Isn't that rich. What is absurd is him saying that about a convicted murderer.
