Terrorist Bomber Thwarted by FBI
#1
Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafism, a 21-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of planning to blow up the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, federal officials said. Authorities say he attempted to detonate what he believed was a 1,000-pound bomb.

He was caught in a sting by undercover FBI agents posing as Al-Qaeda facilitators. Scary to wonder how many of these nutjobs might be running around looking to pull another 9/11. Good job on this one by the FBI, caught on tape and all.

Story developing. Details here:

It's not clear yet whether he really had Al Qaeda connections or not; I wonder why not if he's been under surveillance and sting.

Comments on the news sites range from relief that he was stopped, to accusing the FBI and government of entrapping this guy to secure funding for anti-terrorist budget and/or to make Obama look better just before the election...

IDK. After 9/11, I believe that what seems unfathomable can happen on our soil (again) and am relieved that he was caught. Also glad that much of the operation was recorded.
