Unfortunely my atmosphere is due for a big storm since we got nothing last winter. **sigh**

Bullshit, it was the devil behind this storm. Reports say the home that they film Jersey Shore from only has minimal damage. Tells me the devil pushed Sandy through. jmo

I fell asleep watching Brian Williams show, it was all about the destruction of this storm. Sad Sad Sad

I saw an older woman sobbing, her husband had just retired and all they wanted to do now was enjoy their grandchildren and live by the sea, they lost everything. She walked for miles finding bits & pieces of her life strewn about.

She makes it up to a house next to the tree with her boys, knocks and the owner REFUSED HER ENTRANCE. She then took her boys in back and tried to break in with a concrete flower pot (I gather with no success) and the boys were swept away.

The guy who owns the house doesn't deny anything except he insists that it was a man trying to get in. When the reporter asked him, regardless if it was a man, would you have helped? He replies, "I'm not trained, I was wearing shorts and flip-flops" blah, blah, blah.

Unfucking believable!!!

OMG! who could turn away anyone, especially someone with such young children during a storm like that. He will be miserable the rest of his life for sure. Just more reassurance for me how fucked up the humane race really is. The word will get out, who he is. He will get no pity from me. Heartless bastard!

He's not trained? All he had to do was open the fuckin' door.

He's not showing any remorse. None whatsoever. If you're interested I'm sure you can find his interview with a reporter.

I don't think my mind could stand knowing that someone died because of something I did or didn't do.

He will not be miserable for the rest of his life...he doesn't care enough to give it another thought. Yes, there are people in this world void of any kind of feelings, emotions or conscience.
Sad that this was the only house she could get to before her children were swept away.
Hopefully, he will know what misery is in the afterlife.

Smiley_emoticons_smile Agree with the logic. I don't believe in the devil (except the Mock White Debil), but Mother Nature can sometimes be a mean destructive bitch. I blame her.

Oh, and that unrepentant homeowner who didn't let the neighbor family in the door - definitely an asshole. He owns those deaths, not Mother Nature, imo...

P.s. beautiful avatar, sharit.

I can't find the video of the neighbor from my phone while exercising on an eliptical machine. Maybe later. The story seems to be changing. Now it sounds like the boys had already been swept away when she went to his house for help. Some reports also say she knocked on a few doors.

Leaving her own home when she did was a terrible mistake.

I'm sure she will regret that move for the rest of her life User.

I can't imagine being such a selfish asshole as to turn away someone at my door needing help during a storm. That man is going to pay dearly for that.

I don't think he will, he has no remorse.

Not that I don't have sympathy for this mother, but why in the hell didn't everyone just leave prior to the storm making landfall? If you were located within a mile of the coast, get OOOUUUTTTT!

Especially with two small children.

In the days before this storm, I believe they said a 10-12 foot storm surge was possible. As soon as people knew they were in that right quandrant of the hurricane, it would've been time to hightail it out of there.

What I find the most amazing is the citizens are hungry, cold and without water, but they are setting up the marathon. The marathon has truck loads of food, water and generators. I hope it also has police protection; ever seen and angry mob storm some place for food?

Good luck NY; you are going to need it.

I actually thought NY would turn worse faster. Unless the news is doing a blackout. Kudos to the people of New York for not rioting like Katrina or LA.

I've read articles on looting, but not to the extent of Katrina or LA...yet!

I'll be the first to stir the shit. Katrina hit in a city of mostly poor black people. The niggers tore up South Central LA. Sandy didn't hit in a large area of poor black people. Who wants to be the first to call me a racist? It's a FACT that when something like this happens, the niggers are the first to steal what doesn't belong to them.

Sandy whooped our ass on Long Island not as bad as staten Island.Lost power at 6pm when the trees ripped off the electric lines from my house.Panicked because all I saw was sparks and thought there was a fire.It was dark and my cell could not get through to 911.Very scary lost 10 trees or so 12 the shingles on the roof but we survived.Power was restored yesterday am.I feel bad for all those who died so scared though.I can't imagine not having a home to go to because it is gone. But New Yorkers are tough and we will be fine.Thought I would share.......
