I've been a biker for years and years and have never let any man control me, and I don't control them either.

You don't have to be in a club to have a biker life style. They are basically the same in all other aspects IMO other than the club bullshit<<< again, my opinion.

Nobody has ever seen me get on any forum and talk about a bunch of stupid rules and regulations and asking my Husband for permission for anything. Thats the difference.

Exactly.

I've been riding bikes before I got a car.

Just to make things clear - "property of" means way more than getting bossed around. You are literally property to have anyone in the club do with as they please. You are their whore, punching bag and anything else they deem to make you that day - this goes for whatever man or woman says so. You are subserviant to whomever you "belong to".

That ALONE was enough for me to not get involved with anyone in a club and be 'let in'. I ride alone. I belong to no one. I follow no one and never wear colors. I've got the respect of plenty and never need to watch my back among other bikers.

"someone" told me differently when asked why I am not affiliated with any club- said it means you've got 'protection' for life from the club - maybe it's different in HER club but somehow I do not think so. None of my biker friends would agree when I asked them if that definition was true.

When I had my bike my license plate read NOTHIS. ::bigg::

Wait... the 'property of' thing wasn't just a joke???
::blink::::blink::
Wow, that is some disturbing stuff right there. I won't even go into the psychological implications.

I don't feel the need for any kind of "protection" from a group of people that want to treat me like a piece of meat, and tell me what I can and cannot do. Besides, the group we hang with, I would consider to be just as close as and "Club Members".

Someone is always talking about being harrassed by the police. I don't run into that kind of shit either, enless it is for speeding, or being too loud and obnoxious sometimes, but within the law. We wear our lethers and bandanas, we have tatoos all over,( not me, only a few) , we still go to the rallies.

Why would anybody want to be owned when they can have the same kind of lifestyle, have the same closeness of friends and not having anybody thinking you're their property.

I don't know.

I've never had hassles from any cops except when we asked for it by our actions.

I find it interesting that someone didn't like how bikers were guilty by association for being "bad people" and not "understood" yet in the same breath will show the same "guilt by association" toward a cop thinking all cops are pigs.

in the bike weeks i have attended at daytona, and in my own county, i found most bikers to be friendly and supportive...always giving a thumbs up if i was driving a cruiser, which i always returned ::thumbs::. bikers are said to respect veterans, almost all the cops i know are veterans. not pigs.

My thinking exactly.
Some cops are pigs. I've worked with them. I know. They embarrass the rest of us that attempt to do a professional and caring job- looking sometimes at the spirit of the law and not always the letter.

Some cops are backward thinking, redneck dipwads that don't think their shit stinks. It does. Thank goodness the extreme minority are like that (still too many, but like a Sergeant told me once, "we can only hire from the human race.").

I too believe it is a small minority of riders that stink it up for many of the good ones.

I couldn't live that lifestyle for more than a couple of reasons...I'm the boss of me, no one controls me & if someone tried they would be history immediately, I wouldn't tolerate it for no man...Also, I'm not playing second fiddle to any fuckin' body, I come FIRST..not my man's buddies or his club, ME !...Lastly, I ask no one for permission for anything, I make my own decisions & choices, I decide the path I'm going to follow, no one decides for me.

Exactly. When I saw 'someone'worrying about choosing the correct user name that wouldn't upset her husband and club, I had to roll my eyes. Try applying that a thousand fold to your life... it'd be unbearable.

Any psychology enthusiasts in here? What kind of person would act all threatening and hardcore online and then surrender her person to a group of people in real life? It's beyond my understanding.

Protection from what? That doesn't even make any sense. What do they do, follow her around like she's the president of the United States ::laugh::

Or does it mean protection from other motorcycle gangs? If thats the case, then it just goes to show that they are no different from trouble making thugs and deserve to be harrassed by the cops.

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), a term first used by Heinz Kohut in 1971$[1]$, is a form of pathological narcissism acknowledged in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders in 1980, in the edition known as DSM III-TR. Narcissistic Personality Disorder, is a maladaptive, rigid, and persistent condition that may cause significant distress and functional impairment.

At least five of the following are necessary for a diagnosis:

-has a grandiose sense of self-importance
-is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
-believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by other special people
-requires excessive admiration
-strong sense of entitlement
-takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
-lacks empathy
-is often envious or believes others are envious of him
-arrogant affect

I is not talking about people riding bicycles, I is talking about the organised gangs on their "hogs" riding around dealing in drugs and weapons and battering prostitutes to death with big spanners.
