Man and woman's best friend...

This is beautiful but I hope somebody has adopted the dog. Smiley_emoticons_slash

A loyal dog whose owner died late last year has apparently been showing up for Mass every day for the last two months at the church where the funeral was held.

Tommy, a 7-year-old German shepherd, used to accompany his owner, Maria Margherita Lochi, to services at Santa Maria Assunta church in San Donaci, Italy, according to the Daily Mail, and was allowed to sit at her feet.

After Lochi died, the dog "joined mourners at her funeral service" according to locals and "followed after Maria's coffin" as it was carried into the church.

Tommy, a stray who was adopted by Lochi, has been showing up "when the bell rings out to mark the beginning of services" ever since.

"He's there every time I celebrate mass and is very well behaved," Father Donato Panna told the paper. "He doesn't make a sound."

Some people could take a lesson from a dog.

I read about a dog who spends part of everyday at his owner's grave site. Just yesterday there was a story on my welcome screen accompanied by a photograph of a dog whose owner had fallen through the ice, the dog stayed right there with him.

I get a little emotional when I watch videos of soldiers returning from war and are greeted by their pets. I don't think it would be exaggerating to say those dogs are happier than the soldiers human family members.

I could do without most humans in my life but I couldn't do without the animals. I'm fucked in the head that way, I appreciate them more than I do most people.

My dad died of a heart attack inside his box truck when he was delivering something to some guys house 50 miles from home. When the truck was brought back home, the dog laid in front of it all day long for months on end until my mom sold it.

It was heartbreaking to see her laying there everyday.
