My ticket from Aus was covered by the people I came to present for. As was my ticket from the west to the east coast and back. I only had to pay for my rental cars and beds for about 12 nights. Awesome freaking holiday for the princely sum of about six grand.

I love to travel. Love it. Love going to new places and meeting new people/cultures. An open mind ensures a great experience.
Softball lololol. You know what sport is almost the exclusive domain of girls and soft-middled pretend athlete drunken salesmen? Softball. And the only way cricket can be considered "tactical" is that only the retarded (I think you call them "royals") or criminally insane can figure out the damn rules.

PS if by other countries you mean Japan, Cuba, most of Latin America, and all of North America then yeah I guess baseball has limited appeal. That's essentially an entire hemisphere crazy about a game played with sticks. How many countries NOT floating off the coast of Europe like a giant turd play cricket? Didn't think so...
I'm fixing to drive across country to show my G/f and her son the Rocky mountains for the first time. That's the continental divide for anyone living on a tiny floating turd. The only way Englanders would see something piled that high and impressive is if they stacked CN's ruined dreams...

When are you going? Post plenty of pictures, please! That's what I want to do here next...I hear Colorado is beautiful, Wyoming too, jacksons hole and the grand Tetons...

If I wasn't so homesick, I'd go tomorrow...

Baseball fans love the boys of summer, it's particularly huge in cities with a team. It's as all American as our flag & apple pie. I've heard seniors talk about sitting by the radio as a kid following the games and it's usually spoken of with such reverence.
I loved going to Tigers games when I lived in Detroit. I've taken the kids to Valley Cats games here. Not quite as good but still fun. It's a good time sitting in the sun, having a hot dog, watching the people and the game. It's not football but still fun.

Trip's not until the end of July. I'll throw some pics up when I get them. I drove across the continent dozens of times as a kid and grew up in and out of Colorado and it never loses the ability to absolutely stun you to look at those rockies. I just realized I haven't been west of Kansas in twenty years...where the hell does time go? Jen's never seen anything that way via the ground. Got some fun stuff on tap I'll share in coming weeks...

Softball is diet baseball and its equally as tedious and lacking in real physical tactical challenge.

I understand you can't get that grey milkshake sloshing around your cranium you call a brain to absorb the complex rules of Cricket. Yanks don't do complexity and subtlety I get that, you want instant gratification served with nachos and a gallon of soda.

India are cricket mad and the population of India is more than north America, latin America (where baseball is nowhere near as popular as soccer), Japan and Cuba combined my friend. Add to that the populations of cricket mad nations like Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Africa, the West Indies (carribean), Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ireland and Holland. The cricket world cup is truly a “world” cup not a completely North American based “world series” ha ha!

I know Americans like to think they are number one at everything including sport but I'm sorry to burst your bullshit bubble but there are infinitely more people playing cricket than baseball in the world you chump!

Before claiming one sport is more popular than another do your research and you won't look like so much of a tosspot!
If India is so populous and cricket crazy, how come none of their players make the kind of money that comes with a truly popular sport? Of the top ten
richest cricketers in the world
only two have a net worth in tens of millions. That's total net worth, not salary. The two measly British players on that list don't even have a combined net worth of ten million. The third richest cricketer, some Indian guy who probably smells of curry, only has a total net worth of 5 million.

Compare that to the list of the highest paid baseball players. Not their total worth, mind you, but ONE YEAR's SALARY. How far down do you have to go to get to one worth only five million? Let's put it this way: the list only has fifty names and none less than 13 million.

Per year.

Sure there might be more total countries that play cricket, but they're mostly little pissant countries that suck and can't get their shit together long enough to form coalitions larger than a couple square miles of ruins and sheep farms. Guernsey and the Isle of Man have teams in the so-called "Cricket World League" and they got less total area and population than the average Wal-Mart. Even Monaco has a team and I've taken dumps bigger than that place.

You fuckers will let anyone play that game, because frankly anybody CAN. No skill involved in using a canoe paddle to whack a slow-moving ball, so all the non-athletes over there can feel all special when they get a hit. Meanwhile, not just anyone can play baseball and excel. It's harder than it looks, which is why our best are handsomely paid.

Same with soccer. If it wasn't just a bunch of clowns running around and kicking a ball to each other, we'd probably care about it. We tend to prefer games where there's actual scoring going on, not an hour of jogging aerobics followed by a couple free kicks and a tie game.
Burn...
You fuckers have no clue about softball. I watched a game and those girls wung those balls underhand faster than any of you dirtballs could wipe your ass. It was a fast paced game and I gained a ton of respect for it. Its not a big pillow fight you feebes.

Sitting in the lounge at LAX waiting to board in about an hour. Once again it's been great to visit this place. The divide between the haves and have nots seems wider since I was here 12 months ago, and there doesn't seem to be as much happy on the faces of the people in the street. I hope it's better when I get back again.

The hospitality was just as good as ever though, and the people as ever willing to strike up a conversation and share a little local knowledge and history.

In the words of the Savannah locals; thanks y'all!
Good observations. Hope your flight is quick.

Ok time to pick this horse turd of a post apart like a pack of hyenas pick a zebra corpse apart.

So you have had to concede the fact that there are more practitioners of cricket than there are of baseball in the world? Good, I'm glad to see you were finally able to do the “math” on that point.

Now you seem to claiming that because baseball players get paid a lot more than cricketers that somehow makes them better athletes? I'm sorry but that dog just doesn't hunt dipshit! There are orca fat professional wrestlers who can barely frigging move around the ring who earn a lot more than the average cricketer, does that make him a better athlete? I don't think so dipshit! Jim Carey gets paid a lot more per movie than Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino does that make Carey the better actor? I don't think so dipshit! Market forces and the price of tickets and how much sponsors want to pay does not dictate how good or bad an athlete is and never has which is a good thing.

Continued....
Up until a few years ago Rugby Union players used to be all amateurs they had seperate jobs and didn't get paid a bean to play rugby, they must have been terrible athletes right? I don't think so dipshit! I've played rugby union and its one of the hardest and most physically punishing games in the world, it makes american football look like morris dancing. But the american football players must be better athletes than rugby players because they get paid a lot more right? I don't think so dipshit!

Yeah “little pissant countries” like:-

India current population - 1.23 BILLION.

Pakistan - 177 million.

Bangladesh - 151 million.

South Africa - 51 million.

Face it dipshit the only reason you think these are “pissant” countries is because of the colour of the skin of the inhabitants who like you said “smell like curry”.

Continued....
“Slow moving ball”

What!? In cricket?! You're having a laugh right? Either that or you know absolutely fuck all about cricket dipshit!

The best fast bowlers can bowl a ball up to and including a hundred miles an hour. Imagine a rock hard cricket ball (smaller and heavier than a baseball) bouncing in front of you and shooting up towards your face at 100 miles per hour.

Here is a link that lists the top five reasons why cricket is a far more demanding sport than pissy baseball and always will be.

Read it and weep dipshit:- http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/520...n-baseball
And finally as far as “soccer” is concerned? Let me state it clearly the rest of the world does not have a problem with “football” (we call it football because its played with the feet were kind of old fashioned that way!) Only america has a problem with football.

But yanks being yanks they think the rest of the world is to blame because they don't get it and anything yanks don't “get” must be crap right?

WRONG! Football is by far the most popular sport in the world and always will be.

You even have your own crappy professional version over there now where you pay average veterans who no european club wants millions of fat fucking dollars to ply their trade there to try and make the crappy MLS a little less “sucky”.

Oh please, he had the nerve to try and attack one of the sporting institutions of both of our nations, cricket.

Instead of saying fuck you and defending cricket against the clearly inferior sport of baseball like I did, you just cheered him on from the sidelines.

You're no Australian you're just a wannabe yank trying to ingratiate himself.

Pathetic.
Cricket lol. The game every slob can play. Your four-post novel length rebuttal epitomizes exactly what is wrong with soccer, cricket, English television and the Brits in general: it takes for fucking ever and you STILL never get to the point. It's just endless bla bla bla and nothing, ever, happens. OF COURSE it's popular in East Bumfuckistan, have you SEEN those countries? They think goat-tripping is quality entertainment.
Americans require a little more stimulation in our sports than some genteel twats running around aimlessly or a bunch of nobodies whacking a ball with a ceiling fan blade, who have names nobody can pronounce and who make so little that they'll probably be answering our telephone service calls tomorrow and pretending their names are "Dave". Elite athletes get paid. Period. Your Becks wanted to get paid kicking a ball. Know what he did? He came to fucking America. Unfortunately for him, he discovered the only reason we put shit like cricket and soccer on TV at all is because people like naps and there are only so many infomercials one can slot into 4am cable TV. It was either cricket or reruns of poker. And guess which gets higher ratings? That's right...fat guys playing cards is more entertaining than cricket.

That's gotta suck for you...
