See this woman? The father of her daughter, the man she lived with & had been going to marry assaulted her, he was jailed briefly & released without bail. This wasn't the first time he had beaten a woman but the prosecutor's office chose to release him on his own recognizance. He later went to the home he shared with this woman and proceeded to stab her while she was running away, stabbed her down the stairs, through the living room/kitchen and out onto the patio where he straddled her and continue to stab her in view of their neighbors and their 4 yr. old daughter. He has pleaded not guilty.

The article says she wasn't planning on marrying him and was actually planning her "escape". I believe I also read he was arrested or something for assaulting her back in 2005. Anyway, clearly he was a regular domestic abuser. I feel badly for the victims but some part of me always thinks...why didn't you leave sooner? I know there are dozens of reasons but I have a hard time fully accepting any of them.
