Are there no smoking rules where you live? This doesn't affect me but it gave me pause anyway. Philly's mayor just signed into law a bill that makes it illegal to smoke in parks. No smoking outside in the fresh air, how 'bout that.
I don't have a problem with that.
I have not smoked in a few years and I think that's over the top. I would love it if everyone would quit smoking just so the jokers on the hill would be scrambling for tax revenue.

You don't seem to have a problem with any rules & regulations that are forced on us. You're un-American! 16
Outside of my NE hospital, they are signs posted for a two block radius around the hospital that say, "NO SMOKING"!
Which is insane, as within that radius there are at least a hundred houses where they think the people living there won't smoke outside their house. hah

Some laws are just Bullshit
I don't want to be walking through the park or be at the playground with my kids and an inconsiderate bastard is smoking right next to me or my kids.

Go smoke in your own home/yard or your car.

Anywhere else, fuck off.

Tsk Tsk. You're acting entitled.
Some laws never get any respect because they are so mind numbing its like eating an ice cream so fast the brain becomes immune to any outside influence other than the pain in the frontal lobe.
When I was at the airport they had a guy riding around on a cart telling people there is no smoking on the property anymore. I think he gets paid to do nothing but that all day long.

People like MS who get irate over other people smoking annoy me. Mainly because they're brainwashed about second hand smoke, trust me you're not going to get cancer from cigarette smoke blowing in the wind. You're more likely to get cancer from all the other shit you breath in and eat everyday that no one cares about because they're too busy worrying about people smoking in the park.

I don't particularly want anyone sitting right next to me blowing smoke in my face either and I don't want to smell it an enclosed area, but if someone is sitting outside at the other end of the park I don't give a damn what they do.
I hate cigg smoke. But the government is getting a little over the top.
I don't want to go to the park and get stinky smoke all over me and my kids.
Once apon a time people asked if it was OK to smoke around them. People were considerate and respected others. Now its me,me,me.......

What about the sidewalk beside the parks? My Cousin lives in a town where smoking is banned in the park, so people just walk 5 feet to the sidewalk.

Smoking is banned on many town beaches up here & I'm all for it. I've got no problem walking to my car where there is at least an ashtray.

Good question. I don't know the answer but it must have been asked, don't you think. I know when the laws against smoking in the work place went into effect the smokers were hanging around right outside the door, now they have to be a number of feet away from entrance.
Yeah seeing all the butts everywhere is a bit annoying because of the litterbugs.

So what happens if you or one of your kids step in dog shit? Should dogs be illegal too?

When that 20 foot law went into effect here, they posted a sign outside of the courthouse that said "No Smoking 20 feet from the door", so I lit up right next to the door. Constable said "can't you read that sign?" I said "Yeah, it says no smoking 20 feet from the door. I'm only two feet from the door." hah

I'm guessing in some parks dogs aren't allowed.

Why do people always reach for something else/some sort of comparison?

Like the guns and cars analogy.

"Ooooh, let's take away cars because they kill people too."

How the hell do you get smoke all over you outside at the park? I've been to plenty of parks and no one has ever sat directly next to me and my kids and blown smoke all over us. My kids have never come home smelling like a cigarette butt because some bum was smoking on the park bench. Do you get their perfume and car exhaust all over you too?
