This woman is dead and this is how she was viewed by those who came to pay their respects. Apparently she looks much the same as she did in life.

This isn't the first time we've talked about this kind of thing in Mock. We saw a dead boxer posed and an elderly man in NO posed as well. What do you think about this? Would you arrange it for a loved one if that person requested it?

I don't like it.
Yeah, if someone I loved requested it, I'd do it.

Maybe I'm weird (no shit, right?), but I don't really find it hard to understand why some people want their family and friends to memorialize them as they were in life, rather than laid out and made-up in a box or in the form of ashes in an urn.

It doesn't bother me and I don't find it disrespectful or anything like that.

I'd honor a loved ones wishes too.

While I do find it a little strange I would probably be more comfortable at viewing if I were seeing the people as they were & not laid out.
I would honor the persons wishes. But I guess I'm more traditional when it comes to viewings. They pretty much suck either way.

I don't like doing any of that. I understand the idea of paying one's respects but seriously, I very much dislike my last memory of someone being of them laid out. I'm not having a viewing. Dramaqueen
While I personally find staged funerals creepy...seeing people laid-out is also creepy.

I just went to a viewing two weeks ago for my uncles fiance...it was the worst make-up job on a dead person I've ever seen. If I were her children, I would have threw a fucking fit. It was truly nightmare inducing.

The only person I've ever thought looked good laid-out was my dad...thank God. He looked peaceful and looked like he was sleeping. 21 years later, we probably would have kept it closed.

I think the video montages and their favorite music playing is the way to go...or lots of photo albums.

You were so lucky. I never think the dead look like they are sleeping, I rarely even think they look like the person they were.
Whats up with those nails? Looks like she hit one with a hammer
I can still see Mike in his casket in my mind. He did look peaceful. But whenever I think if him, which is often, I still cannot believe he is gone. I KNOW he is. Accepting he is gone at 52 is much harder. My Mom did not look like herself.

I can't help but notice the cigg and ashtray in the pic. Did she die of lung cancer perhaps?
I don't think the story indicated what she died from, she was only in her early 50's . The scene that's set in that picture is supposed to portray how she was in life so cigarettes were a habit for her.
Just to be clear, viewings are not for the dead person. They're for those in mourning. That said, whatever floats your boat.

Pick the poison. There's also a mostly empty bottle of Jack in the background, a glass of wine?, and a shitty beer on the table.

There's Saints helmets on the table too. Maybe she had a bounty put out on her.
Hey, she was no Saint...

But, she was obviously a woman of good taste (except when it comes to beer).

She's got 49ers' mini-helmets as table decor, after all. Proof positive.

If that's true, her cause of death was likely Kaep signing his big deal. hah
I don't know which helmets they are for real.

I just think the lady looks like a fun character, so I'm making her a 49ers fan.

It's not like she can kick my ass for talking smack or anything if she only had eyes for the Saints. (But, she looks like she probably coulda whooped me when she was still breathing.)

They're Saints helmets. I actually copied the picture, pasted it in paint, and zoomed in so I could see.

Plus her nails are black and gold, dress is black with gold scarf.

She was on her way to redemption in the eyes of the Mock judges, but no...

Now, she'll be labeled as nothing more than a Busch-sucking, Kool-puffin, Saints' lover...for the rest of her death!

All because Cutz had to pull a Colombo. Effin' killjoy.

RIP unnamed Saints' fan (I know you were a closeted 49ers fan too and an Eagles hater -- "a woman of good taste").

Hey now

Ummmm................ Okay, here's the plain truth.

It's a widely known fact that all men who like the Eagles more than the 49ers are suffering from diminished capacity of some sort.

Women who like the Eagles are okay, with only one exception -- black dead women who like the Eagles are tacky.

I'm not sexist or racist or anything, I read it in the American Psychiatric Journal -- What Does Your Post-Mortem Football Fantage Say About You? by Itaka Kraap. Volume 8, pg. 36. (Sorry, I lost the link.)
