. . . . . . . . a second chance to someone who made a "bad first impression" on you?

Yes, I think I would. I feel that way right now but I might not at another time. A "do over" for a first impression. There's probably one or two that I'd like another shot at so I'd give someone that courtesy, yeah.
Do you mean romantically? Cause I've had friends in HS and college that I didn't like the entire time I knew them. I guess it depends how bad the first impression was.

I'm with Ms D on this one, there are a couple of do over's I would like a second chance at. Romantically, & or life in general.
(unfortunately never got them)
I would give someone a do over, if it was really important to them, and they acted like they really wanted it.
I don't care that much about first impressions anyway. It means more to me that someone shows character over time in all kinds of situations.

Half of my friends are assholes, but they have a lot of good qualities too.

So, yeah, unless someone absolutely disgusts me or does something straight-up terrible right off the bat, I've got a lot of chances to give.

I'm an asshole sometimes too.
No. I know immediately if I like someone or not, even if they're not at their best moment. You could be drunk and start a bar fight and I'd know if I liked you or not.

Yes I have before and I would for someone in the future. People get nervous, have a bad day etc. It's a second chance to confirm the red flags and or raise new ones. The person however may take the opportunity to hide the mistakes or flaws from the first impression and then you could be left wondering which is the real person, 1st impression or 2nd.....decisions, decisions!
Actually, I was surprised to see that Ms D would give a second chance, and HotD I kinda just knew you would, Sally, you're a tough one! hah

It's true nerves, bad luck, just bad situations all around can screw up a first impression.
So sometimes giving a second chance is reasonable.
I have before but it rarely changes my opinion of the first impression.
I'm with Sally, I usually know in a very short time if they can make the cut or not and am very rarely wrong

I wouldn't give a second chance romantically. The only chance you get in that area would be the one you are enjoying now.

Agree.

I know a few people who have divorced & married the same person 3 times.
They're crazy, but it does make their lawyers happy! hah
