This has been spreading all over the news in the Midwest. Didn’t see a thread here, so…

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a suspect in the kidnapping of a Realtor who disappeared after she left to show a home in Scott.

The Pulaski County sheriff's office says it is looking for Aaron M. Lewis, 33, who was last known to live on Randall Drive in Jacksonville. He faces a charge of kidnapping in the disappearance of Beverly Carter, who has been missing since Thursday night.

Sheriff's office Lt. Carl Minden said investigators had pegged Lewis as a "person of interest" when he was involved in a vehicle crash in Pulaski County and taken to Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock for treatment Sunday. At some point while authorities believed he was getting a CT scan, he fled the facility and hasn't been located, Minden said. Lewis will have facial injuries from the wreck.

Minden said he could not release how authorities linked Lewis to the crime.

I dislike it so much when they do this bs. Why in the world would they consider it a secret. That immediately makes me suspicious that they have nothing more than their own thought.
I wonder if Lewis had Beverly's phone when he was taken to the hospital and cited after the crash? That would be enough to get an arrest warrant approved quickly.

Missing Person ^ Beverly Carter and her husband Carl

Beverly went missing on Thursday afternoon; her vehicle and wallet were outside the vacant home she was reportedly scheduled to show to a potential buyer.

But, her husband says he received three texts in a row from her phone early on Friday morning.

Snip:
The first read simply: “Yes.”

The next said: “My phone’s low. The battery’s down, and I’ll call you whenever I get signal.”

The final message read: “Oh, I’m out drinking with some friends.”

Mr Carter said the texts did not sound as though they had been written by his wife.

It says in the article HOTD posted, that Lewis was apparently a person of interest BEFORE the crash happened.I was also in thinking, like HOTD, that LE had found something belonging to Beverly in the car and were able.to make a connection after the crash.

But if he was already a person of interest before all the crash broohaha then how did LE make the connection?

I wonder if someone made an anonymous tip and then LE found other clues in Lewis's car like Beverly's phone as HOTD already suggested...
If LE was able to put a trace on Beverly's phone immediately (or if it was GPS enabled) and Lewis was in possession of it and stupid enough to leave it on, it's possible that he was quickly honed-in on via phone records.

Speculation only. I'd guess that if he was truly a POI before the crash, LE would have had a tail on him and he wouldn't have been able to just waltz outta the hospital. But, maybe not.

arrested.

a comment by a local on the fb page said he took the photo “bloody selfie” with her phone, and since her husband’s iPad shares the iCloud with her…
but if he was already a person of interest before the accident, I don’t know. And then of course, perhaps the photo was taken at a different time. Like after a struggle/fight.

or perhaps it’s all just local theories.

I wonder if I'll ever stop being astounded by just how stupid some people can be. It boggles the mind.

"Alleged kidnapper Aaron Lewis arrested minutes ago in office closet at Pleasant Point Apartment according to FH reader Adam Nash who spotted him in front of Razor Vapors and called the police. Adam tells me that he followed Aaron until police arrived and that Aaron pulled a knife on him during this time before fleeing again. Adam then chased him into Pleasant Point Apartments where Aaron was found hiding in a office closet."
Oh lawd..so this bloody selfie was taken by Lewis with Beverly's phone before the crash ? And that's how LE was able to connect him to Beverly's dissapearance? Or was this selfie taken right after he crashed?

Ah just read your comment and the article stating police haven't said how they made the connection.
That’s an unconfirmed rumor at this point. Local rumors. There’s also someone saying that this is a set up, and that there was an ad on craigslist for a memphis area realtor for a *romantic liaison* situation posted two weeks ago. That perhaps she answered the ad, and blah blah blah.

The photo of him being arrested certainly don’t look like he is 5’11” and 156lbs, as per his last arrest in 2012. Unless the officer arresting him is very very large.
I think that deputies actually took the picture they published of Lewis' injuries?

Snip:
Deputies had contact with Lewis before an arrest warrant was issued and they announced they were looking for him, reports CBS affiliate THV11. Lewis was reportedly injured in a car accident Sunday morning and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Deputies took pictures of his injuries, reports the station.

Lewis was a person of interest at the time he was being treated, but Minden told the station Lewis was "not under the guard of law enforcement at that time due to not having any criminal charges."
Lewis reportedly left the hospital in the middle of testing and a warrant was obtained later in the day.

"They feel frustrated he left. Obviously it's not something we can control. If someone is not under arrest, and we go into a hospital, we're just not allowed to go back there," Minden told the station. "But, yeah, it is frustrating to know that you knew where he was, and you just didn't have an arrest warrant for him at that time."

Lewis was reportedly apprehended by the Little Rock Police Department near Little Rock, but no further details were immediately available, reports the station.

After his car accident Sunday, Lewis reportedly told responding officers a vehicle ran him off the road and his car collided with a concrete barrier in Sherwood, about 15 miles north of Little Rock, shortly before 10 a.m. Sunday. However, witnesses said Lewis was speeding and he began to fishtail before crashing.

According to the station, Lewis has been out on parole since August 2013. In the past, he's faced charges including felony theft, obstruction of government operations, and failure to appear.

Lt Minden answering questions tonight "he knows exactly where she is"
Body Found

Beverly Carter, who hadn't been seen since she went to show a home in suburban Little Rock, was found in a shallow grave near Cabot, about 20 miles northeast of central Little Rock.

Aaron M. Lewis, 33, was arrested Monday and charged with kidnapping Carter. That charge will be upgraded to capital murder, the sheriff's office said.

"Lewis admitted ... to kidnapping Beverly Carter, but would not divulge her whereabouts," the sheriff's office said. After he was booked into the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility, investigators said they obtained information that led them to the property where the grave was located.

Deputies said Lewis didn't tell them where they could find Carter despite undergoing 12 hours of questioning, and a tip led them to her body.

RIP Beverly Carter.
So sad..not the outcome I was hoping for but not surprised.

I wonder if the tipster who told them where to find Beverly's body, might've also tipped them off at the beginning that Lewis was their guy..?
I was REALLY hoping she would be found alive. :/

Lewis says he did not kill her, and says something about a guy named Trevor.
Thanks for that link ScientistsCanvas.

Here's the video of Aaron Lewis answering reporters' questions.

Trevor is an Air Force dude from the military base, according to Lewis.

Sounds like Lewis is saying Trevor was a partner in the kidnapping and that Trevor killed Beverly.
Lt. Minden says “Trevor” is not a suspect at this time. There is a Trevor in the Air Force that lives in the area, that is “friends” with Lewis on Instagram. Whatever that’s worth. I assume officials are/have been in contact with him.

There WILL be DNA considering the intelligence of the suspect. I guess its just a matter of time. Very sad outcome at any rate.
