I prefer applying hot butter to muffins.

It's a young fern that you would cook much in the same way you would asparagus. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I have a bag full. Ostrich type I don't like the cinnamon type. They're bitter.
I've never heard of such a thing. Some ferns are poisonous. I hope you know the difference Maggs.

I know the difference. They taste a little like walnuts.
Steamed fiddleheads, grilled tomatoes and topped with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce sounds like a nice breakfast.

I've never heard of fiddleheads until you mentioned them once before, but I guess you treat them like you would asparagus.
I like the taste, I like the smell, the color shape, I even just like the word "fiddlehead" its just good all around food.
They are starting to pop out around here.    Took a walk in the woods yesterday and saw a bunch sprouting.
Maybe fiddleheads will come in my veggie box today.
No need to say anything Mark.

And it is becoming morel hunting season. I really want to go look for some now.
I'm going fishing in the morning and will look around. They go good with Trout and eggs.
