A psychiatrist from the Maine school testified Gates suffered from a narcissistic personality disorder with schizoid and passive dependent tendencies. He said she was unable to control certain emotions and impulses. A defense attorney argued at one point she had been "programmed to kill" as a result of her upbringing.

I would have no problem killing someone trying to do harm to my family or me, or even saving an innocent person's life but some people are just evil.

That is what I assumed at first but then I thought maybe it meant something different.
These sorts of people raise the question of what is it that makes us human. Whatever that something is, clearly there are some who don't have it.
