rothschild, I just have to tell you that I couldn't agree more. I can remember snowbanks as high as my bedroom window on the 2^nd floor. People around here don't have a clue and I spend a good part of winter rolling my eyes at their dramatic exclamations of the cold when it's in the 40's or their complete panic if the weather people say we could get an inch of snow.

Every generation seems to have less of an ability to cope with adversity than it's predecessor, especially the adversity inherent to properly raising children.

Fuck. Why did I waste 40 minutes digging out my car? It's still snowing like a bastard out there. I'll probably have to do it again tomorrow. Might have tomorrow off of work too at this rate. At least I have power. And if I'm off tomorrow I can catch up on more movies or clean my apartment.

I've known parents who make a deliberate effort to ensure their kids don't face adversity if they can help it. It's how they roll and I don't understand why they think they are doing their kids a favor. 

I always ask my mom why she dosn't want to move back to MN where her family is and she really just doesn't want to deal with the weather anymore. I get it.

Trader Joe's has a Coffee BBQ Rub.  Or at least they did, and it was fabulous.

I now just make my own and tweak it with a little bit more of this and not-so-much of that.

Yes, people are so so stupid. What the actual hell? This poor girl over in Western Australia thought she was getting in the water to swim with dolphins because someone had said they had seen dolphins, it was a bull shark. She died. She was 16 years old.

I am not for interacting with these animals even if it is in a controlled environment. They are happier and have better lives when they don't have that human contact. You see it at zoos when people try and interact with the wild animals with disastrous results.

People are so dumbed down and uneducated these days. There is no excuse for such stupidity as touching a whale. I know the whale watching tourism is big, but it is just whale watching. I actually think here in Australia, if you go near them you will be arrested and fined because it is against the law.

Animals always try to interact with me, not the opposite. I've had so many incidents where I'm just minding my own business and they come up to me initiating small talk. I'm like Dr. Doolittle.
