Saw the commercial on TV this morning and had to go take a look. My mom was a teamster for over 30 years and she told me about all that crap about being told who to vote for because she's union.
My brother is union and sadly, unlike mom, he tows the line when it comes to doing what he's told (good little comrade huh?). He admittedly says he does not always agree with their choices but he "Doesn't want to lose my job." over it.
I've never worked for a union and I never will. This kind of shit is wrong on so many levels.
Your vote should be just that -
YOUR VOTE and not coerced by someone else.
How the heck do they know who you are voting for?
Did you look thru the site? They can't possibly know in presidential elections because no matter how you're registered you can cross party lines but they MAKE you get a card with the party of the union.
Go look thru the site. The whole fact that they are behind this is scary enough.

No matter Newbs... it needs to be halted in it's tracks. There's a lot of reading in there. I got five minutes to myself later to get more indepth with that site later on. I don't like it.
Your privacy should be protected. PERIOD.
I'm not good about knuckling under. As much as I appreciate the union and what'sthey've done for the American worker, they will NOT dicate how I vote.

This behavior by them has been going on for a very long time now. But when you get the government backing them up with these kinds of sick plans, you have to stop and think about what's wrong here.
Interesting site and i have seen it before. My father was one of the leaders at the AFLCIO for many many years before he retired and has always been very pro union and in turn a Democrat. This many times seems to come down to a Democrat vs Republican issue and which party supports the unions and which does not.
Luckily I never got into all of that union crap, other then liking movies about Jimmy Hoffa, lol
I can't completely agree with the anti-union sentiment expressed here. I'm a government employee and the fucking feds were trying to make a new pay scale mandatory... in essence, they'd make it really easy to fire us if the boss didn't like us. I had a boss that was pissed off at me that actually told me I was lucky the new pay plan wasn't in effect because then she'd have the power to fire me. Lemme tell you... I'm a damn good employee. I'm extremely efficient, I back up my co workers and I'm very knowledgeable. My boss wasn't. Bitch retired when she didn't get the promotion she literally sucked dick for and I'm still there.
Okay, that went way off subject... sorry.
The union helped prevent over control in supervision. I appreciate it.

Unions are the last accepted form of organized crime. My ol' man worked for GM as a line supervisor for6 years and turned his distaste for unions into pure, sheer hatred. Obviously, he was not union.

Ok this is cleared up somewhat because I'm watching an interview with G. McGovern on tv now.
This is all within the union you join. This is a bill to make it so if you are a union member and something needs voting upon your ballot and vote are NOT secret.
So say your union wants to pass something allowing dental benefits to go at 100% coverage with no copay and you need to now vote on this, your vote will be made open to anyone who cares to view it.
So either way, the union that's supposed to be protecting you is only exposing you and if you go against the union ..... now they know who did. This then opens up the common worker in said union to so much shit.
Obama openly supports this. Pelosi is pushing it on the house floor. No one is talking openly about it besides McGovern.
Pretty fucked up IMO.
