Just curious on opinions because it was recently mentioned. What do you think?
Personally, I think that if the PM was sent to you with a *reasonable expectation of privacy*, meaning that you're friends with the person and they trust you not to share a confidence, that you shouldn't share it. Otherwise... fair game.
I've posted PMs before when I thought it was pretty obvious that's what the sender had in mind to begin with, such as Fryguy's last PM... generally I don't think they should be posted though, regardless what fuckwit Frank keeps accusing me of.

i have learned that nothing is truly private, so i keep PMs innocuous. if i am close enough to the person, and trust them, we can email.
generally forum etiquette precludes posting PMs.
if it's vicious or a threat it should be forwarded to admin. of course.

The wacking off thing I can understand, but if you idiots think I give a fuck about what people yap to each other enough to go log in as them to read PMs, you obviously don't how sick of yapping forum posters as I am.
I think PM's should be kept private. That's why they call it a PRIVATE message. If the sender wanted what they are saying posted on the board, they would have posted it on the board.
Edit to add: If someone got a pm from someone else saying hey, how's things and you posted that hey I heard from so and so and they are doing good and say hellom that is ok, But private stuff should remain private.
