The code ordinance here says that no cat or dog should be off your property and running at large. Well my next door neighbors cat was in the school yard behind my house and my dog dug a hole underneath the fence and attacked him which resulted in some minor injuries. I paid the entire vet bill of $300 to have him treated because I thought that was fair enough since my dog attacked him.

Anyway, the dickhead owner of the cat entered the school to break the animals up. He somehow got a small scratch on his arm and what looked like a paper cut on his index finger and went to the emergency room saying my dog did it. He is now trying to get me to pay another $400 for that. I just want to kick that pussy ass motherfucker in the balls if he even has any balls. I responded to his letter telling him to fuck off, but in a nice professional way of course.

We are probally going to court over this. Do you think I should have to pay his ridiculous hospital bill? He was equally in violation of the code and it could have been his own cat that scratched him for all I know.

I would ask for a doctor's report to 'prove' that the injuries were caused by a dog bite.

It doesn't sound like he would be able to get someone to claim that the injury was, in fact, a dog bite. If so, you may be screwed, since your dog managed to get off your property during the incident.

It probably WAS his cat that scratched him unless your dog has sharp little claws and teeth. If he has to provide photos as evidence, which I assume he would, the judge should be able to see the injuries for what they are.

Fucking asshole should be strung up for letting his cat run around outside like that anyway.
Goddamn whitetrash knows no bounds when it comes to money for nothing.
You are probably gonna have to pay the sonofabitch so he can spend it on blue ribbon beer and smokes.

Unless you keep an attorney on retainer you may be better off paying the 400.00, unless it's a matter of principle with you.
I didn't even have to pay for the cats treatment. They were going to do the cheapest thing and just put the cat down had I not took it to my own vet and paid for the x-rays and all the other treatment. He didn't have any internal injuries and would have just healed on his own. Now this asshole is sending me a emergency room bill for a fucking scratch. The fire department was even here after the incident for christs sake. He showed me his so called injury and it didn't even require a fucking snoopy bandaid. Fucking unbeliveable.

LuMPyPussy

How 'bout you go kick him so hard in the balls, those fuckers rupture. Then he'll have something worthwhile to take you to court for. Smiley_emoticons_smile

I can't believe he was going to have his cat euthanized. Some people shouldn't have pets.
For an extra $100 maybe you could get the vet to SLIP with the needle and give the neighbor the leathal injection.

Yeah it's a matter of principle. I paid the cats vet bill, his cat is not allowed to run at large which is what he intentionally allows him to do and caused this, the guy tried to break my dogs neck, and he screamed at my 12 year old son that he's going to kill our fucking dog. I want to kill the guy right about now.

Poor cat needs a good home.
Do us all a favor, don't pay him. It may end up costing you thousands of dollars in attorney/court fees but you'll be doing the world a favor not supporting assholes like that. Smiley_emoticons_slash

Seriously, since both pets were off the property, it seems like you shouldn't be liable. But, putting that aside, I don't know what the laws are with regards to animal bites/scratches etc. Would the courts side with him just because your dog supposedly injured him? Would they take in to consideration the fact that the cat was also off property? Dunno.
