The winter Olympics have a hard time holding my interest. There's really only a couple of sports I'll end up watching. Hockey, Slalom skiing, and the snowboard racing...the rest of it...meh.
What will you be watching?
the downhill, slalom, freestyle skiing and ski jumping. 
i never got interested in snowboarding.
I've been so busy I haven't a chance to see any of it yet but, I pretty much like it all except for the faggoty ice skating...I tend to be competitive so any sport where one is trying to beat another will hold my interest for awhile.

I dont like the half-pipe snowboarding crap, where they are judged. But the racing, where they have 5 guys/gals on the course at once is fun to watch.
I was watching some speed skating last night when the Koreans had a 1,2,3 win, then wiped out of the 2 and 3 spots. Good watching there.
I'm sure if I see those women skating those fine butts around in the short skirts I'll be watching some of that too.
Or if I happen to catch like Shawn White snowboarding, I'll watch just because you can't help but to root for the kid.
I caught a bit of the skating last night too. The short track stuff was OK, but man, the races where they have 2 guys going around the long track, that takes 6 minutes to complete was a snoozefest.
Fuck the Olympics. The only thing I'm interested in is if Vancouver actually gets enough snow to host some of the competitions.
I watch the snowboarding but as for the rest?, nah. I mean curling?, what the fuck is that shit?
Whenever I see snow I just think about being warm indoors away from it, not watching some maniac hurtling down it at 90 MPH, and because its in Canada its on at daft o clock over here anyway.

Anybody catch that hockey game last night? Even if you arent a huge hockey fan, you really had to enjoy that....unless you're Canadian.
I don't follow minority sports.
They should punch each other all the time instead of playing hockey, hockey whether its on ice or grass is a girls game.

Yes, THE most popular sport in the world bar none.
10 million more people watched the last European champions league final than the last superbowl.
50 million more people watched the last world cup final than the last superbowl.
We also don't create championships in sports only our country plays in and call it the "world series" either.
May as well be a world series, no others, except perhaps the Dominican Republic could even come close to fielding a team that could compete with a MLB team. Can't get into soccer too much myself, bit slow paced for my taste. But I have quite a few Brit "E friends" that are very passionate about that sport, and I understand that passion, as opposed to dissing a sport that I know nothing about.
They have ice hockey teams here and I have seen a couple of matches, I just found the whole experience cold and tedious, but each to their own I guess.
I do like Gridiron and don't mind basketball, I would rather watch a satanic snuff film than watch baseball though, its even more boring than Cricket which I didn't think was possible.
My daughter got me into monster trucks recently and I like watching drag racing.

Cricket.. agree with you there, although once again, my Brit friends are really into it, especially the Ashes. I just cant see how a game can last days?
Basketball...not bad at all until the end of the game, where the last 2 minutes takes 30 minutes while teams commit foul, after foul, after foul....kind of an anti-climax, IMO.
Baseball? Much more fun to attend in person, with a few good mates and enjoy a few cold beers on a nice sunny afternoon. Agreed, it can be slow, much like soccer, unless you really understand the nuances of the game...again, much like soccer.
Edit: The one thing I'll never understand about "soccer" is the hoolignaism. I know this one Brit gal...single mother...that is afraid to take her children to a match for fear that they might accidentally get caught up in some type of brawl. It's almost as if this is an accepted behavior...and that's just plain sad when one is afraid to take their kids to a game which they love.
The hooligan problem was a big problem in the eighties and early nineties, I should know because I was one!
But once Sky TV bought the rights to football and the first division became the premier league then the mega cash really started to flow and we suddenly had all seater stadiums, more stewards, more security cameras and more police. Hooligan activity in or near the actually football stadiums is almost completely unheard of now, but you sometimes get trouble before or after games but its no where near as bad as it used to be.
There are still firms though and they do clash, some of the firms in the Netherlands and italy and Eastern Europe are like mafia style cults, scary ass shit.
I wouldn't take my daughter to a live game though, the language and vitriol between the two sets of fans and the sheer hatred towards the game officials makes every live football crowd experience an R-rated one.
When I say footballs fans are very passionate about their clubs I think some people don't understand how passionate, when you hear an American or whoever say "I support my team just as passionately" well excuse me but no you fucking don't. Would you run headfirst into a brawl where you are likely to get the living shit kicked out of you just because of the pride you have for your team.
Most supporters support their local team from a early age and stick with them through thick and thin regardless of how bad their teams fortunes are. The very idea of changing a teams name or strip or nickname or traditions is absolutely unthinkable and the idea of changing the team you support?, fucking treason.
I am an Atheist but not a 100% one, simply because I am a Newcastle United supporter and that is a religion in itself.
