I will start by conceding that I do not know everything about cars..but I know what I know. The other day, the brake light on Kim's van would come on for a second and then go off. Usually when I first started the van from a cold start. So, a couple weeks ago she had her brakes fixed. I figured there may be a problem with a sensor or something, and called the placed that fixed the brakes. They said bring it in.
I explained the problem again. They guy said..
So when did the light come on? I replied, just after start up. For a second then off. So he said, are you sure you did not hit the emergency brake? That will cause the light to go on. NO.
So, he said, well the guy may not have topped off the fluids....I will have him check.
They did, and the fluids were down. Yep..a sensor. But even then, the guy insisted that I MUST have done something wrong...was I sure it was not something I did.
Funny thing, though..since they filled the fluids, no light.
maybe they think that because some women ( and some men too) don't do something basic like check fluids?

Lodge a complaint with the "owner" of the establishment! Stating how his service person talked down to you, making you feel that you will consider going somewhere else the next time your (or Kim's) car needs servicing. The fear of hitting him in the the wallet, may just cause him to straighten out his personnel on how to treat "all" customers with respect.

Right. Thing is, if she had not JUST had her brakes fixed, I would have checked the fluids first off, as I thought that was what the sensor was telling me. But I just wanted to make sure there was not a problem with the work they did. I did not want to do anything that they would consider compromising the warrenty on the repair.
checking fluids voids a warranty?

the last mechanic who thought i was just a dumb female went to fucking jail and lost his occupational license. for trying to rip me off. i stung his ass.

but this was a dealership right?
Well, I figured they would say anything. The work was done at Cole Muffler (I think it is a chain). Done there because we had to take it there to replace the muffler, and they found the brake problem.
Well, she is getting a new van in a week or so. So no worries, and we won;t need to go there.
HI KIM! i'm glad you're getting a newer and safer van.

HAPPY AUTUMN DEAR! 99
