Do you think the animals can sense things before we do?

absolutely. mother nature gave them the gift of instincts for self-preservation. even in my little backyard wildlife sanctuary i can see by their behavior that they know snow is coming.
their "sixth senses" i think are really finely-honed instincts that we don't have anymore as a species. or don't always pay attention to.

Yes.
Cattle know when it is going to storm. Dogs and cats go crazy before an earthquake. My stupid ass dog only knows when I am cooking.
I think they can sense something...last night when our power went out Trixie (chinchilla) went totally apeshit..running all over her cage, very skittish. Only calmed when one of us went to her cage.

My Beagle always knew when a storm was coming before there were even any indication of one. She would begin to pant & shake. She would be so scared that if someone opened the fridge she would attempt to get in there to hide. Poor lil' punkin'. Smiley_emoticons_slash
Monkey's know when a women is on the rag.
All I have to do is think about taking my dogs for a walk and they all start acting crazy and run to the door. They must sense my dread.
When we had our tiny little earthquake a few weeks ago, people were talking about their dogs acting weird. Not sure about the cats, but they don't normally give a shit about anything anyway.
I suspect there may be a lot of senses that are poorly developed in people but much of animal "6th sense" is probably more instinct than what we think of as a sense. Animals do know when earthquakes are coming but they also sense tsunamis in at least some instances. I believe this is because they "see" the reflctions of distant lakes and bodies of water moving in the sky. Most of our instincts are fully intact but are subordinated to our knowledge. We simply won't see the precursors of earthquakes because we weren't taught how and haven't figured it out ourselves.
