Deputies are searching for a 4-year-old boy who was last seen by his mother Monday morning.

Jaiden Henry was last seen at about 8:40 a.m. Monday. His mother, Sasha Earnest, said she had gotten out of the shower to find the front door of her apartment open and her son missing, the report said.

Deputies have gone door-to-door in the Landing Apartments, located at 6904 St. Johns River Drive in Tampa, and have not found the child. The sheriff's office is now searching for Jaiden with K-9 and aviation units.

Jaiden is described as a black male with short hair and a stud earring in his right ear. He was last seen wearing an orange shirt, light blue pants and socks.

Anyone with any information about Jaiden is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813

TAMPABay.com— A 3-year-old boy walked out of his home Sunday morning and was still missing Monday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

The front door of Sasha Earnest's apartment at 6904 St. Johns River Drive was open when she got out of the shower about 8:40 a.m., and her son, Jaiden Henry, was gone.

The boy was last seen wearing an orange shirt, light blue pants and socks. He wears a stud earring in his right ear and has short hair, deputies said.

Deputies knocked on the doors of other apartments at the Landings complex, and canine and aerial units also searched for the boy but couldn't find him.

Anyone with information about Jaiden is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (813)247-8200.
TAMPABAY.com — Sasha Earnest got her two children ready for day care Monday morning, then stepped into the shower herself, leaving a door cracked so she knew when her infant daughter cried.

From bathroom, she called out to her son, Jaiden Henry, 3, to find the pacifier.

"J.J., put the binky in the baby's mouth," the mother said, according to a relative.

It worked once. But the next time, the baby kept crying. Jaiden didn't answer. When the mother went looking, the front door was ajar and her little boy was gone.

The apartment at 6904 St. Johns River Drive is just yards from the Hillsborough River in northeast Tampa. There's a red fence with gaps large enough to fit an adult.

Grandmother Angela Allen said the mother ran to river, then knocked on a neighbor's door to call 911.

Deputies knocked on the doors of other apartments at the Landings complex, and canine and aerial units also searched for the boy but couldn't find him.

"I prayed that I would almost rather for somebody to have my grandson than for him to be in the water," the grandmother said.

The boy was last seen wearing an orange shirt, light blue pants and socks. He wears a stud earring in his right ear and has short hair, deputies said.

Anyone with information about Jaiden is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (813)247-8200.

An earlier version of this story gave an incorrect age for the boy and an incorrect date of disappearance.

fishy damn story.

Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough deputies say a 3-year-old boy who went missing from his Tampa apartment complex Monday morning has been found safe.

Investigators say Jaiden Henry was in the care of his babysitter the entire time. Jaiden's mother reported him missing after he vanished from their apartment while she was in the shower.

Deputies are still trying to find out details as to how and why Jaiden was in the babysitter's care without his mother knowing.

Is this fucked-up or am I just overly "conservative" and not hip?

Glad they found him.
