Full Version: Taking or Giving Credit for the OBL killing

I decided to start a separate thread on this, as I have read a good article I would like to share. On Facebook there is a status thing going around that says the following:
Let's be clear on this: OBAMA did NOT kill Bin Laden. An American soldier, who Obama just a few weeks ago was debating on whether or not to PAY, did. Obama just happened to be the one in office when our soldiers finally found OBL and took him out. This is NOT an Obama victory, but an AMERICAN victory!!!
The article I am linking Is taking this to task..as no where is the President taking credit...in his speech he GAVE credit to the soldiers who carried out the action. The article itself says it better than me so.....

As the commander in chief of the US army Obama COULD have taken some credit if he had wanted to, the same way George W Bush COULD have taken some credit as commander in chief if Bin Laden had been taken out when he was in the Whitehouse.

Th fact he hasn't taken any credit is a measure of the man himself.

The retards on Facebook are just like some of the retards here, they don't want to give Obama credit for ANYTHING EVER.
My feeling, exactly, OP. An American victory is also the President's victory.
The fact is, it happened on HIS watch. A mission was established almost ten years ago and it was finally accomplished.

No credit is needed is or required.

Except for his "green lighting" the method and to the soldiers performing the task.

Fucking hypocrites. If the mission had failed, Obama would have had his ass handed to him.

Would we have ever heard of a failed mission?

As far as the public was informed, no one knew if Bin Laden was even alive.
Barry threw his golf shoe at his picture. I am glad he did.

The answer is "I don't know" but that's pure speculation (we certainly knew about Carter's failure). There are numerous things that could have gone wrong though including U.S. casualties, the death of all of the kids there etc. Or, Obama could have decided to bomb the place in which case we wouldn't have all the documents and computer information we obtained. Granted he wasn't on the ground but he did make all the right decisions for this particular mission as far as I'm concerned.

At least he didn't hide the picture in a draw for eight years like dubya did.

"Where is Bin Laden?, quite frankly I don't care!"

Luckily Obama did care.

hah

OK......Barry is like Chuck Norris. Smiley_emoticons_razz

I believe I stated he should get credit for "green lighting" the method.

If I was a political strategist, I would let the "To release or not release" controversy to brew for about a week.

Then, as Commander in Chief and THE leader of the free world, I would state that the wishes of our fellow inhabitants of the planet sometime supersede the wishes of our citizens (as Americans have now experienced justice and are now looking forward).

There . . . now the world sees Obama as a "world" leader and not as an American bully wanting to rub the "nation" of Islam's nose in the dirt.

If you want approval and adoration . . . go global.

I am available for children's birthdays, office parties and pet funerals, too.
Username looks like an obama puppet, but does that make her actually be one.

Obama can look like a world leader all he wants but he really needs to just lead this country were the ones who elected him, or at least that was the way it looked.
I am glad it happened on Barrys watch, he needs all the help he can get.
Just please.please do not tell him what comes after a trillion!!!!

Your dogged determination to disparage the man at every turn is mind boggling. I don't agree with all of Obama's policies but I have never in my life seen a President so villified so early in his Presidency. George Bush was roundly disliked but it took him years to get there. Even during his campaign, he was attacked differently than any other candidate that I can recall (Sarah Palin's inferences that he was associated with terrorists--FFS!).

One argument against him is "Obamacare" and yet Republican Mitt Romney is doing quite well in the polls despite setting up a similar plan in his state. Ted Kennedy was a long time advocate for health care reform--people seemed to respect him.

Bailouts? Yeah, I think he's fucked those up but Bush handed out quite a few too.

My problem with Barack is what Maggot said. I'm afraid he's going to learn what that next number is. Other than that, I don't really have a problem with how he's served as President.

So fuck you.
Do you know you just listed everything a person needs to know to declare obama a failure as a president?

probably not, I don't think you paid any attention to what you just wrote.

He has gone against the will of the people in all that you listed and many more things you didn't list, Is that what a president does? Is that his job?

Try to keep up here username everyone gets judged for what they do, obama does not get a pass because he is young( he took the job) He does not get a pass because it's only been two years since he (took the job) He does not get a pass because he is a black american he was black when he (took the job) what he does however get is held to the standards he himself set in his campaign, at least by those who listened to what he said and then mark him by what he does.

Dick, he's been treated differently since he was campaigning. If you don't see that you're both blind and dumb.

Actually his motivations for detesting Obama so much are mind bogglingly simple and basic.

Not forgetting retarded of course.

His words, his actions.

He wrote his own campaign speeches, he made his own promises and goals known to the people.

I'm not sure how being treated different as you say has anything much to do with that aspect of his presidency.
