I have a man-crush on Sam Harris. His books and his debates - I just love him. It is so great to have someone articulating so many of my views like he does. Here is one clip from the middle of a debate against Dr. Craig, where he responds to what Craig just said and gets into Christian morality.

What do you think of Sam Harris, if you are familiar with him? Or, what do you think of this clip?
I just wish he didn't look like Ben Stiller's body-double.

I keep waiting for a sight gag.
Where did "morality" come from? What is the difference between good and bad? What is the "reward"?
If people are left to their own devices and society becomes a reflection of ourselves. Does anyone truly believe we would not kill each other in an instant for what they have? Religion is used to keep basic human instinct at bay and remind us that what we do even alone seperates us from all the animals. Humility is sometimes hard on people and without an unseen entity we would be smashing ourselves over the head with the biggest wooden spoon in the kitchen.
He is quoting St. Dante!!! hah
Sooooo, people without prescribed religions are animals?

Jesus Christ.
I agree with everything he says and I think you should ask the preist for permission to show the video at your church this Sunday.

While I do believe in God, it's not the God that I hear all the Jesus freaks talk about.

nO NO NO.....did people learn the difference between right and wrong through instinct or learned experience, and did religion have any influence in it. Even the American Indian believed there was a God spirit. It was not an organized religion. Do the aboriginal people believe in God?

Most Atheists aren't running around and killing each other knob jockey, you have once again fallen into the beleivers trap of saying you can't have morality without religion, and that is blatantly a load of shit.

I don't need a book of fables to remind me not to kill my neighbour and rape his wife, you obviously needed the good book to work that one out you fucking genius.

Why are nearly all religious people retarded?

So why the fuck were they barking at the moon and hacking each others scalps off?

Yet more evidence of MF's latent homosexuality.

I have great respect and admiration for Dawkins but I draw the line at blowing him kisses at a book signing!

hah
Religion doesn't do any harm!

Accept most wars in history, the crusades, the inquisition, arranged marriages to children, blowing up girls schools, the supression of women and gays, fatwas, ethnic cleansing, honour rape, human sacrifice, burning witches, suicide bombings, condoning slavery and the systematic fucking of children.

Other than that religions great!

Except for the sexual satisfaction thing.

Makes me wonder why "God" is mentioned when the sex is supposedly fabulous?

"Oooh, No Supreme Being!" "Oooooh, No Supreme Being . . . That's It! That's It!" "Yes!" "Yes!" "No Supreme Being . . . that was incredible!"

Now be a dear and blow out the candles.
Not familiar with him at all, but a very solid speech.

It's innate, not learned. No God needed. Was that a choice?

I don't believe in the Devil. Do you? As a "person" or spirit or being?

I don't believe in angels, either.

Hahahahaha!

But you gotta believe in Juans, Hectors, Joses and Panchos!

And Jesus.

Georgia . . . "Tu Casa es Mi Casa!"

I believe in the existence of 'the devil', certainly evil spirits. I also believe in angels, but don't know exactly how they appear. It certainly would be easy to NOT believe in God, Satan, Angels, etc.

I went to church as a teen, and didn't go too much from say, age 20 until my late 30's. I"ve always considered myself a spiritual person, though. I guess I just believe. Faith, they call it.

No one really knows if they were right until they're dead.
