The U.S. Bank Flex Perks card, The Delta Sky Miles card or some other award travel credit card?

Have you personally used one/any of them to redeem award travel? How was that experience?

Do you (like me) put all your expenses (or those that you can) on your card every month in order to garner as many miles possible?

I've redeemed both the Flex Perks and the Delta card, and the FlexPerks is definitely the easiest to redeem. Dates are ALWAYS available, and they only charge 20,000 miles for a $400 ticket, while Delta charges 25,000 miles for same ticket.
When you have been on as many military flights as I have you just say fuckit. Fuck planes. But I do get how money can be saved if you spend more. Good luck in the air Midwest Spy. Hibye

What branch? I've made a few 'hops' in my day as well.

Panama City-Andrews AFB on a C-5
Panama City-Tegucigulpa, Honduras (also in a C-5). Very harrowing.
Several in Europe.
Marseille to Virginia
Edinburg to Va.
Naples to Va
Dallas/Ft. Worth to Va.
Guantanamo to Fla.
New Brunswick Me. to Va.
Pease to Maryland
Toronto to Edinburg
Fairbanks to San Diego
Diego Garcia (flyshit island) to Marseille
Back to Diego a bunch of times in 1980
At least 10 more.....Can you guess which branch? Va. should be a giveaway. Smiley_emoticons_slash
Navy man. I actually knew a couple of Navy guys from my days in Norway that had spent some time in Diego Garcia. Funny.

They loved that 'land based' Norway assignment.

I was a radioman then, and they transfered me from ship to shore quite often. Like a rag doll I got tossed alot.

Ever get to Australia?

Had a buddy tell me when they made port there, literally hundreds of women were there at the pier to scoop them up and take them home for the 3 or 4 days anchored there.

Upon reading that I immediately pictured you as Radar O'Reilly.

That entire show was a work of art. That was quality television.

Every once in a while I watch an old sit-com and say stuff like "those were the days" Then my wife walks up, slaps me in the back of the head and says "snap outta it bud" And I'm O.K. again.

As was 'The Rockford Files'. One of my all-time favorites. I'd watch it with my folks after the 10:00 news back in high school.

I also knew Delta to be 25,000 miles to redeem a ticket. Because of that, we always flew Dalta to build up our miles, we have over 30,100 miles ea. To my dismay, a few months ago, we put in our Delta sky miles to redeem our tickets to KC. Only to get a Delta message saying, "40,000" miles are now required to redeem tickets! Fuckers!
So fuckum, now we use Jet Blue, Southwest, US Ailr, any airline other then Delta.
They now can take those 30,100+ miles and shove em where the sun don't shine! It's their loss in the long run.

25,000 miles is their advertised minimum mileage required, but, in reality, as you found out, it's most likely more.

They're the king pricks of award air travel.Furious

No doubt your buddy landed in Sydney during their Mardi Gras. It would also explain why the Village People dedicated a song to the Navy of all the military institutions.

I loathe it in any form. It's huge over here too with the football and cricket. When guys start talking about it and I am in the room, it's like get me a bucket.
