Is your Christmas tree up? Is your house decorated for the holidays?

Dick, did you order your goat?
I have a wreath and a card on the table, Oh and some Eggnog in the fridge.
i haven't put up a Christmas tree since my kids were younger. but i always put up my huge Dept. '56 Dickens Village. that makes my Christmas.
i like holly and evergreens on the front door too. and the fireplace mantel.

Yep. Tree, table decorations, mantle, porch, kid's room. I'm not doing "Christmas threw up in here" this year, but I made an effort.

This is my first year with a fake tree (tired of the damn mess and my tree was dry in 2 days last year, total fire hazard). It looks fine, it just doesn't smell wonderful. The pine room sprays aren't the same, so I am saving a good pine candle for Christmas Eve.
The tree is in the living room--planning to decorate it tomorrow (and break out all the other crap that I'll have to pack up again in a few weeks).

Bah humbug.
Yep. I have an artificial tree that came pre-lighted. Best. Invention. Ever! I collect snow men and Santa's so I have them everywhere. I also love Sock Monkey so I have some Sock Monkey ornaments. My kids laugh at me. LOL
We are going this evening to get our tree. I've had the boxes of decorations down from the attic for over a week, yet nothing has come out yet.
I'm going to get my tree this weekend like a normal person, that's if there are any left after the freaks bought them all up on Thanksgiving.
Finally got around to doing some decorating today. Put up the prelighted fake tree that I only used once before. I really love a real tree, so it's really not the same.

LC, Where do you display your Dept 56 village? In my old house I had enough room to set mine up (New England Village) under the tree. We had a 20 foot ceiling so we put the tree up on a platform, and put the village around the bottom surrounded by a fence that my Father made.

Right now my village is sitting in a storage shed. I'm not sure how to display it in this house.
Order a goat? WTF are you talking about?

Drunk Santa wakes up naked with an elf. Rudolph is red on the wrong end and nobody is speaking.

I think Duchess thinks you order a goat from the meat market, 45846688jerry

Duchess I drive over to the ranch and shoot a goat.

I skin it, bring it home, stuff it with whole potatoes, onions, garlic cloves, and whatever else I want in it, put it in the pit cover it with damp burlap bags, and bury it, I leave it there for about 12 hours, dig it up and eat it,share it with anyone who stops by until it's nothing but bones.

You're a goddamn heathen.
My tree is up, my dining room is decorated and all the crazy Christmas stuff is dangling all over.

Actually im normal. you're abby normal

Some kids took the two reindeer in the yard up the street from me and mounted one on top behind the other, the heads onced bobbed up and down but they must have broke the gears and now all they do is grunt. During my walk this morning I was wondering what that sound was and it just hit me. The gears are busted!

You'll be sorry when a rampaging goat invades your home and you don't have a gun to shoot it.

There are guns in my home...if I ever have to use one to save myself I hope it's against a human & not an animal. It would hurt me to kill an animal.

Are your eyes on the side of your head?

i've always needed a large table in the living room.
my brother has the same Dickens village, he needs a big plywood board and 2 sawhorses to support it, all that is concealed with fabric "snow".

a trick i like with mine...a glass-top table, with the snow base. then shine a light up from underneath the table and it really gives it a lovely illumination aside from the lit buildings.

i don't have any photos of mine on my computer. but i have collected it for well over 20 years and have a lot, including the rare Tower of London. i just love all the buildings, trees and horses and people, a royal coach and Beefeaters, & all the characters from "A Christmas Carol". it's fascinating once it's up.
