reporterjmiguel Defense witness, LaViolette is back in courtroom as is #JodiArias about 1 minute ago

Edit: Mistrial denied, juror booted . . . trial continues.
Alright, moving forward!

I'm gonna wait for cross to hear more about the context of these emails from the Hughes's; I've seen them do interviews regarding their love for Travis.

BUT, I don't get why they inserted themselves into the love/sex life of their friend. Seems like busy-body meddling, based on what's being presented.now. Maybe I just don't understand their intent in sending these emails? I listen if someone i care about needs to vent or asks for advice, but absolutely avoid getting in the middle of other people's relationships.

IDK, unfortunate that these emails even exist.
Hahaha!

elizabetherwin Talking about the #LawOfAttraction again. LaViolette says she watched #TheSecret.

This witness' TIME Magazine article!
So, Travis never refers to himself and Jodi as "boyfriend/girlfriend".

She spies his texts and supposedly finds sexual ones exchanged with other women. She doesn't tell Travis, but texts one of the girls.

Then, she goes on a trip with him, still not mentioning any of this to Travis.

But, we are to believe Jodi Arias when she says it was a special boyfriend/girlfriend relationship and Travis was possessive and jealous.

Tripe. Wilmott is leading LaViolette through communications and journal entries day by day. Smiley_emoticons_slash

I think y'all have the patience of Job to stay tuned the way you do. I tried to listen earlier but it was so tedious, I turned it off. Smiley_emoticons_slash

Thanks for the updates!
OBJECTION!! HEARSAY!!

This whole stream of testimony just strikes me as one loonnnnnnng case of hearsay. Blah, blah, blah.

Juan looks like his head is about to explode.
How much longer is this circus going to go on??

It just keeps getting better and better! LaViolette now blaming the Law of Attraction for Jodi's alleged self-blame.

P.s. I read The Arizona Victims' Bill of Rights today. Those rights should be in place everywhere, imo.

Don't blame you; this witness is dragging on.

It's an investment at this point, but I'm waning and off and on with the HLN testimony. The tweets help fill in the gaps:

"Travis felt . . . Travis believed . . . Travis told . . . Travis, Travis, Travis!"

She speaks as if she were privy to both sides of conversations and situations.

BTW - Jurors are paid less than $15/day (I believe it's $12/day). She's getting, AND THEY KNOW, $300 per hour.

I'm looking at my Maricopa County check for jury duty. I wasn't selected after 4 hours of court time and an hour of travel.

A whopping $2.67!
Yep. That supposed Judge's Order preventing LaViolette from testifying directly about Travis is a joke (if it exists; never found it after it was mentioned on HLN). All the defense attorney or expert witness has to do is state that it's a "perception" or "interpretation" of Travis's words/intent/feelings and the hearsay is in.

Not worried about the jurors being swayed by any of this testimony, except possibly those damn emails. Those "abusive" characterizations were levied by his friends, in writing. Trusting that Martinez can clean up that mess on cross without opening another can of worms.
Tiki nailed it. This is bullshit! She's talking about an incident between Travis and Jodi as if she were there!

This judge is not running a tight ship here. Next up she'll be "testifying" about how angry Travis was when Jodi dropped the camera. FFS.
^ I think you're both right about LaViolette's testimony and it is bullshit. She's testifying to hearsay as if she was an eyewitness to the second hand news. Double bullshit, even.

Haven't followed a case like this before and don't know how lenient the law typically is in terms of expert testimony for death penalty defendants claiming self-defense. Not sure if the judge has much to say about it if it's positioned (ever so loosely) as opinion and interpretation. Whatever the case, LaViolette's certainly getting away with a lot on behalf of Arias.

That story about Jodi confiding in Rachel and then asking Travis to go to the bishop with her to confess to the oral sex was new to me; along with Travis saying he wouldn't go because he'd been in trouble for that before. Martinez looked like he was going to blow a gasket when LaViolette made that last statement.
I'm shocked. She's allowed to make statements like "Travis banged his head against the wall" as if it were fact instead of just something she was told.

I'm not worried though. I think Juan will be able to poke so many holes in this....

There was an Arias anal joke in there somewhere but I just couldn't put it together. Smiley_emoticons_slash HotD? Tiki? I need some help here. hah
This trial has been going on for over 3 months. They only work 3 days a week. Such bullshit and a waste if money. Not to mention the jurors time.

I wasn't worried until LaViolette testified to all of the girls that Travis was supposedly seeing at the same time without each others' knowledge (and from whom he was allegedly borrowing money). Hoping Wilmott will get to the day of the murder today and Martinez has an opportunity to begin his cross.

So far, LaViolette has testified to nothing that even resembles life-threatening physical abuse and the mortal fear/self-defense story still looks like nothing more than bad fiction. Martinez should have no trouble pointing out that gaping hole in Arias's tail; she's stretched it to the max as far as I can see (that's all I got). Smiley_emoticons_smile
Very short pieces of interrogation videos with Jodi's mother and father were shown on Dr. Drew last night.

Very telling; neither claimed that their daughter couldn't do anything like that. They knew she'd done it and weren't surprised, imo.

You can watch the video clips here:

Dr. Drew stated he'll play more of the videos tonight. He's getting some good video exclusives these days, and then, of course, parsing them up for ratings.
Well done, HotD!!

Thanks for the video link as well. I've never seen the dad in all of this...I look forward to watching that.

I was really surprised by his appearance and demeanor when they showed the interrogation video last night.

When he was in court that one day, he looked much much older than the video. The video is only from 5 years ago, but he's aged a lot. He's very low-key in the interrogation interview and seems quite matter-of-fact.

It came up in testimony that Mr. Arias is on on dialysis; he didn't look healthy at all when he attended trial. Lucky that he has a daughter like Jodi who's certainly a caring and loving daughter with great compassion for her family's well being (except when she's berating and physically assaulting her mom or kicking the shit outta the dog).

If he can hang in through the appeals process, there just might be a couple of kidneys in his future.
If she had been really clever, she could have claimed that Travis had agreed to donate a kidney to her father... and to save on health costs they were trying to do it at home.
