PA rodent 'Phil'--->
Every February 2 for over 125 years, a groundhog named Phil emerges from his burrow on Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to predict the weather for the rest of the winter season. Legend has it that if Phil sees his shadow, then there will be six weeks of more winter weather. If he doesn't see his shadow, spring will come early.

well this sucks.

At 7:25 a.m. this morning, amidst mostly cloudy skies, and temperatures in the low 30s, Groundhog Phil saw his shadow in the little town of Punxsutawney, Pa.

According to folklore, Phil’s sighting of his own shadow means there will be six more weeks of winter. Had Phil not seen his shadow, it would have meant there will be an early spring.

but Lardbutt did NOT see his shadow here, it's wet, 35 degrees F, gloomy and cloudy.

Maggot's buddy, mountain man Pete eats groundhogs!

Relaxed Drink

My youngest came beating on the bathroom door this morning while I was in the shower like the house was on fire to tell me that Phil saw his shadow. No matter, it's 45 degrees here and warming for the next week.

the Southern groundhog! hah

General Beauregard Lee leaves his home but doesn't see his shadow on Thursday morning, meaning an early spring for the area.

Haha. Cute things. My favs are meerkats, though. I cried when Flower died.

It has been a great winter. I'm okay with not having snow and ice. We have had some rain, so hopefully we won't do our usual drought thing this year.
Meerkats must have been created when God decided there should be targets.
