i hear that Sally! i cannot do more than 24 and MOCK. we have to have lives! and frankly, my crime forum at 24 represents so much effort that i would leave MOCK first. i need a PURPOSE.

Christ, now I feel like I'm abnormal. I'm a mod on 2 (It was 3, but I retired from one of them), An admin on mine (which isn't worth jack till I finish the game its for), and a member of 6 or 7, though the two for Heavy Metal Software don't count for much since they're a pair of private forums (one for the programmers like myself, and one for the playtest group). Hmm. Oh well, I'm just good at multi-tasking. I usually run Mock with every "New Post" thread opened in its own tab and speed read them for instance.

i don't think it's "abnormal" to belong to many forums. it depends on what you get out of it or put into it. i am totally focused on my forum, and also like belonging to the community at large. i have people bugging me to join things, i won't stretch myself that thin. my 'identity' is crimes and trials.

He seemed to have disappeared for a short while but now Obama is in office he seems to have reemerged with some of his own brand of trolling.
I recently had a bit of a debate there and he had the nerve to shoot me a pm telling me how 'we have to stick together' or some silly shit like that. Then said he's going to visit my home page and make some posts.
I quickly reminded him I am not a liberal like him and I find both sides of the aisle full of distaste and fly my own colors when it comes to politics.
He quickly made a lame back pedal and said he had me confused with someone else. He also forgets that he's banned for life from my pet forum there.
Duchess, I do talk to a few of the people you find narrow minded and they all know I don't agree with them on many of the things they say but that does not mean they don't see my side of it either. It's all how you debate them, very much like how things go here when you're trying to make a point. You either stay on topic and the subject at hand or go off on some tiradeusing agitating words and both sides go off and wind up in a fight instead of actually using words to hopefully make someone see your side of the coin.
It is easy to ignore things there you don't want to deal with. He has it so you can collapse the forums you don't want to view. If you don't see them, you won't feel the urge to comment.
Also, there is no liberal side of the coin political forum there. If anyone is that passionate about their brand of politics, Frank already said to start a forum for it. Once someone has their own forum, they make the rules. So if you want to start a liberal leaning forum (or whatever) you can say it can get rough in there and you might be called names and one should be prepared to take the heat if they start something controversial.
I think the only thing Frank would object to starting is a mock type forum on 24.
In all honesty, there really hasn't been that much of any kind of sensible political debate there in a long time. Mostly it's been one side sniping at the other and right back at ya in return. That's not debate.

I like 24 well enough, but some times I need to take a break from the Obama bashing, illegal alien hating crap going on.
I really like LCs forum, and the food forum...which I new regret giving up.
Right now I am just in one of those pissy, feeling sorry for myself times where I really have no interest in visiting the site, or posting there.
Same with Mock. It is pretty cool here, but, again, sometimes I just don't feel of a mind to post here. Nothing against most of the people here...just when I get into the mood where it stops being fun to visit. Plus, **gasp** real life has been pretty nuts for me lately and I have not had a lot of time to come visit.

i LIKE 24. its character has changed a bit, it ebbs and flows. i have a home there and work hard at my crime forum to keep it up-to-date. it matters to me. i try to post in all areas, history, cooking, science, collectibles, media. its up to the members what a forum IS. some have been scared off or gone on with their lives, but the people who care can keep it going. if anyone here cares, go join and post something non-confrontational and possibly of general interest. if 24 dies, its the "fault" of the members. i don't want it to die. i never post in political matters, but still have friends there. you needn't join the fray...add something that's all your own!
