I'm not surprised to see us winning our division but Dallas over NY, really? Is that because Brandon is gone as well as Manningham? I don't underestimate Victor Cruz, he's a lil' machine & I'm concerned about the 'Skins for the first time ever, I may feel differently about that after I get to see RG3 play a few games, I'm not prepared to think he walks on water like some others are.
I believe Tennessee, in a relatively weak division, will be one of the season's surprises. I also think that New Orleans will fall flat. I think they get off to a terrible start and maybe post a 6-10 type of season.

As for the rookies, I think Andrew Luck will make Indy fairly competitve and I just don't see RG3 being as good as Cam Newton.

The Sports Illustrated guy Peter King, has Dallas winning the NFC East. I'm not a believer in that, but I do see the Giants stumbling this year. Remember, they only posted a 9-7 record last year, before getting hot in the playoffs.

The Niners with Jim Harbaugh as coach, are the team to beat in the NFC, IMO. I think Joe Flacco has an MVP type season with Baltimore as they get to the Super Bowl as well.

Then, it'll be the Harbaugh brothers coaching against each other in the SB, and we know Big Brother always beats Little Brother in those matchups.

I'm totally freakin' psyched for the season to begin for real, I'm happy to have a had a winning pre-season but I want wins that count & I have the expectation of enjoying a winning season, there's no room for failure.

I'm rooting for Dallas Wednesday night. I love to hate the Giants, those fuckers. Ugh.

I really like the Harbaugh brothers, I think they are a class act. I was just reading someone predict that one of them gets Coach of the year.

I'm a little surprised to see how little you think of NO, I think they are a very competitive team. I don't know much about the Titans. I'm self involved in that I only pay close attention to my division.

I'm looking forward to Jason's first sack. I'm going to flex & rawr too!

You didn't mention the Vikings at all. Surely you have SOMETHING positive to say?

There's no doubt that football season is the most exciting of all the pro sports regular seasons. With only 16 games, there really is very little margin for error.

I'm just shooting from the hip with my picks. I've read a little and looked at some injury reports.

As for the Saints, they've had 3 really nice seasons in a row. The coach that was going to fill in for Sean Peyton (suspended for the year), has ALSO been suspended (first 6 games of the season). They're also implementing a new defense this year. They won't be the blitzing, ball-hawking 'D' they've been known as anymore. This is why I believe they get off to some sort of 1-5 or so start, and limp to the finish line.

If I had something positive to say about the Vikes, I would. There's little to be hopeful about. Tough division, and very few talent upgrades in the off-season. People here are saying if they win 6 games, it'll be a tremendous year. Yipee!

I had forgotten all about that! Ha! Now I understand your reasoning.

NFC Championship: San Francisco over Carolina
AFC Championship: Baltimore over Denver

Super Bowl: Baltimore over San Francisco

Thanks for posting your picks, MS.

I didn't ask about the division championship showdowns, but for Super Bowl picks:

-My nephew has the Patriots over the 49ers.
-My friend has the 49ers over the Chiefs.

Neither picked the the Ravens, but they did kick around Baltimore, along with New York and Denver.

Sounds like a good season ahead. Hope your picks pay off.
I'll take the Cowboys +3.5 tonight.
Season Record ATS: (1-0-0).

Sunday's Games, I'll take:
Jacksonville (+4)
CHICAGO (-9.5)
Philly (-8.5)
Buffalo (+2.5)
Washington (+7)
TENNESSEE (+5.5)
Miami (+12)
St.Louis (+7)
KANSAS CITY (+3)
GREEN BAY (-5)
Carolina (-2.5)
Seattle (-2.5)
DENVER (-1.5)

Really glad to see the Eagles on your list & surprised to see the 'Skins beating NO. I'd rather not have that happen. I can live with the Dallas win because they beat those dreadful Giants.
Just a quick refresher in picking games using the spread. For example, we'll take this weeks Wash/NO game. NO is favored by 7. While I happen to think Wash can win the game, even if they don't, but lose by less than 7, I still get it right.

So, I took the Eagles to 'cover' the 8.5 they're laying against Cleve. If they only win by a TD, I lose.

Over the course of a season, it's very difficult to pick near 60% against the spread.

Game Day! Go Eagles!

2 happy sons here today!

Apparently, it is like riding a bike. The Patriots are in total cruise control after taking the summer off, and they’ve got a 21-3 (Tenn.) lead at halftime.

I always expect them to be winners, the only time they surprise me is when they lose.
Vikes had the ball with a 5 pt lead and 1:50 left and are still trying to give the game away.
Jax TD. Vikes are terrible.
55 yard FG as time expires. Vikes force OT.
Holy crap... Eagles have committed 5 turnovers and have over 110 yards in penalties! It'd be nice if they don't turn it over on this last drive and score a touchdown.

*ETA as I typed that, Vick fumbled the ball and then recovered his own fumble. Unfuckingbelievable.
49ers/Pack just kicked off. Could be an NFC Champ game preview.
Wow! Lions and Vikes score late to secure W's.

Eagles are losing to someone named Brandon Weeden.

Pats crushed Titans. Bears, Texans and Jets rolled.
